*Summary*
This is a project oriented position in either onsite or offsite situations
having accountability for managing client expectations while delivering
services and solutions. The Consultant provides technical services related
to analysis, design, build, performance tuning, testing and integration of
all components of the Business Intelligence solution in conjunction with
other project team members on a specific client engagement.
*Areas of Responsibility*
- This individual will be responsible for BI support - New report
development, report maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, etc.
- Interface with other Teradata Professional Services consultants
and Teradata engineering staff as needed to resolve complex technical issues
- Provide technical expertise to data warehouse clients that will
contribute to innovative business solutions.
*Education*
- Bachelor’s Degree
o Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer
Engineering or related fields is preferred
- Post-Graduate degree is a plus
*General Skills*
Required:
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong SQL and Database experience, with a major RDBMS (for
example Teradata, SQL Server, DB/2, Oracle)
- Strong background in IT
Preferred (in order of preference)
- Experience with Data Modelling, Database Architecture
- Experience with Data Warehousing and ETL Methodologies
- Any background/experience with Graphic Design
- Customer facing project experience
*Technical *
Required
- Minimum 2 years of BI Reporting Experience
- *Must* be open to cross-training on a different BI tool
- Candidates must have experience with at minimum 1 of the
following front end Reporting tools:
o Microstrategy (Version 9.x or higher)
§ Object Creation: Attributes, Facts, Metrics
§ Reports & Dashboard Creation
§ Familiarity with MSTR Web portal
§ Experience with Localization, Transaction Services, Custom SQL
reporting, I-Cubes or Datamarts preferred but not required
o Tableau (Version 8.3 or higher)
§ Datasource creation
§ Workbooks, Dashboards, Parameters, Calculated Fields
§ Tableau Server experience, publishing workbooks and dashboards and
Tableau web portal
§ Experience with Sets, Data Blending, Advanced visualizations, Maps
preferred but not required
o Business Objects (BOXI R3+, BO 4.0+)
§ Universe creation using UDT and IDT(BO 4.0 onwards):
· Modelling : Adding tables, creating joins, aliases and contexts,
resolving loops and traps
· Creating classes and objects(dimension, detail, measures,
condition and prompts)
· Creating access restrictions
§ Experience in Report development, implementation, and support using
Business Objects Web Intelligence, Xcelsius dashboards, BO Explorer, report
scheduling
§ Web Reports creation using java report panel, rich client
§ Experience using Translation management tool, creating profiles and
publications, infospaces and Live Office preferred but not required
o Cognos (Version 8+)
§ Experience in Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Dashboard Creation
§ Expertise in Report Scheduling , Bursting
§ Expertise in developing and executing SQL scripts
§ Develop standard reports and templates , dashboards ,master detail
reports & multilingual reports using Cognos report studio
o Oracle BI (OBIEE 11G+)
§ Hands one experience with OBIEE Answers – Development using different
Reporting Views, Set operators, Pivot reports
§ Expertise with OBIEE Interactive Dashboards, Guided navigation Links
§ Experience with OBIEE Scorecards, OBIEE Delivers-IBots, Customised OBIEE
Backend Report SQLs
§ Maintenance of reports in the Web Catalogue
§ Familiarity with development of RPD, Report Variables, Dimensional
Hierarchies or Time Series Functions preferred but not required
Preferred (in order of preference)
- Experience with more than 1 BI reporting tool
- Mobile BI development
- Experience with BI solutions based on non-traditional Big Data
databases (Hive, HBase, SimpleDB, MonetDB etc).
- Exposure to Data Mart development
