The Workday Configuration & Support Specialist is responsible for the
configuration, maintenance and support of the Payroll, & Compensation
modules within Workday. The Specialist will support the functional business
areas during the implementation phase of the project and post-go live by
ensuring that the system is functioning to business expectations. The
specialist will assist with related projects, including system
releases/upgrades, enhancement, and process redesign and will troubleshoot
and resolve all issues related to system configuration and set-up system.
*Principal Duties:*
1. Work alongside the implementation team to learn and demonstrate a
deep knowledge of current Workday system configuration. Provide assistance
to business teams in system configuration, system testing, integration
reviews, troubleshooting and resolution of issues
2. Develop a trusted advisor relationship with business teams through
effective communication and delivery of quality work. Serve as a daily
resource to assist business teams during project implementation phase.
Become a Workday expert in Wawa specific configuration learn Wawa business
process to support business teams post go-live.
3. Serve as the key point of contact and resource for the Payroll &
Compensation teams, take ownership of all issues related to Workday.
Monitor the system to ensure all processes are running as scheduled and
Business process are completing as designed. Provide support and
troubleshooting when issues arise. Follow all escalation processes as
defined.
4. Serve as the key point of contact for the Payroll team to drive
towards decisions and recommending best practices related to Payroll
processing (i.e., deductions, calculations, compliance, garnishments,
taxes, etc.) with the ability to create and support complex Workday payroll
calculations and work to optimize processing.
5. Partner with the Payroll Team to coordinate and manage the Year-End
process. Provide support to business team by working with team to develop
strategy and approach for Year-End process, provide direction and guidance
on testing approach and recommend and implement solutions to streamline the
process
6. Support business functional areas on new programs or processes.
Recommend improvements and support new programs. Develop user procedures,
guidelines and documentation for related systems. Provide training to
system users on new processes/functionality as needed
7. Act as a liaison between the business function area and technical
resource to evaluate the impact of changes and coordinate the planning,
testing and implementation of system changes. Reconcile the business inputs
and functional requirements of interface changes; work with IT on technical
requirements as needed. Assist the integrations team in helping to
configure and test integrations between Workday and third party/custom
solutions
*Essential Functions:*
1. Subject Matter Expertise in Workday Payroll with a deep understanding
of calculation fields, EIB loads and complex report writing.
2. Workday Payroll expert with deep knowledge of current functionality,
design concepts, touch points with HCM, Benefits, and Compensation
3. Ability to work with little or no supervision
4. Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills, considers the
bigger picture, ensuring alignment with department objectives
5. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
6. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and independently
7. Excellent interpersonal skills
8. Must be able to work well under pressure and make informed decisions
9. Ability to be on call when business needs arise
