*JOB TITLE:* Senior Unified Communications Engineer
*MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*
- Identify and recommend improvement opportunities that are
consistent with client needs.
- Off hour work may be required during maintenance windows.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with client, vendors
and staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication, listening, and strong
presentation skills
- Ability to perform tasks with minor supervision
- Demonstrate ability to implement, drive and track projects
- Strong problem solving skills: ability to assess a problem and
determine an effective course of action.
- Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member
- Experience in planning, deployment and operational support of
advanced technologies and applications
- Professional experience to include customer service,
requirements gathering, task execution, problem solving, sound judgment
around crisis escalation.
*QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:*
Education/experience: BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent and 5+ years system
and/or network administration experience;
*Required skills:*
· Active Cisco CCNP in route switch with 5 years hands on
networking experience with WAAS, routing and Switching or an experienced
CCIE level engineer with operational experience with WAAS
· Deep understanding of layer 3 routing and WAN related technology,
including EIGRP, BGP, VRFs, MPLS, WAAS
· Experience with Cisco WAN Optimization (WAAS) Management,
implementation, and reporting on an enterprise enabled WAAS network
· Must know WCCPv2 or higher and how to deploy and support WAAS
existing WAAS networks using it.
· Ability to create technology and process documentation (Low
level Visio diagrams, bug fix recommendations, create configs, create and
document procedures)
· Proven ability to lead technical projects and deployments.
· Strong troubleshooting – must know how to troubleshoot WAAS
issues and do packet captures.
· Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
· Ability to execute tasks independently and within a collaborative
environment.
*Highly Desired skills*
· Experience with Cisco WAN Optimization (WAAS) Management,
implementation, and reporting on an enterprise enabled WAAS network
· Experience in setting up traffic policies and implementing
performance tuning activities
· Hands on experience with deploying WAAS appliances in clusters
and setting up device groups and templates
· Hands on experience in troubleshooting WAAS inter-site and
intra-site connectivity issues
· Hands on experience in WAAS IOS upgrades and firmware updates
· Hands on troubleshooting complex enterprise Cisco routing and
switched network environments
