Define and blueprint technical and administrative controls that are necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets, protecting them from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction, as well as to solve complex problems, balancing business needs against potential risks, threats and vulnerabilities. Responsible for planning multiple control structures which are used to provide security for Wellmarks most sensitive systems and critical applications. Work with EIS leadership to bridge standards and blueprints into an effective and efficient operational support. In the end, ensure security across Wellmark critical systems and sensitive data protecting these from intrusion, misuse and abuse. *Responsibilities:* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Security/Science, Information Systems, or related field, or direct and applicable work experience. - Minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience working in an information technology and security environment, with technical leadership and design and engineering. - Previous work experience in engineering of security controls in a tiered model, including exposure to some of the following: Firewall Rule Analysis system, Security Log Management system, Intrusion Detection and Prevention System, Code analysis and testing systems, Anti-malware systems, Authentication and authorization controls for networks, applications, file shores, and databases; network and/or domain trust relationships; Public Key Infrastructure (PKI); Identify and Access Management (IAM); encryption controls; Virtual Private Networks (VPN), secure messaging (SSL/TLS); data loss prevention techniques and software; malware analysis; configuration hardening; and Internet gateways - Broad experience and knowledge across IT functions (Systems, Network, Databases and/or Application Development). - Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills. A certain degree of creativity, innovation and latitude is required (the ability to think outside the box when faced with challenges). Ability to troubleshoot and interpret user problems, and discern appropriate solutions.
