UI Designer
Location: Washington, DC
Rate up to 50/hr roll perm 80-120k

We seek a highly motivated professional with at least 3 years of user
experience interface design work and a matching online portfolio.
Responsibilities:
. Transforming abstract concepts with minimal visualization into
visually elegant web-based applications that adhere to usability principles
. Conducting user analysis, task analysis, UI mock-ups, user
interaction models, prototypes, design briefs, design specifications, and
screen flows with little direction
. Leading user/design specification meetings and devising coherent
diagrams for review by team members and customers
. Collaborating with internal creative and technical teams to ensure
that web designs and applications meet both client and end user needs
. Developing fully documented designs of interactive web based
applications that can be easily interpreted and implemented by experienced
software developers
. Designing and building web pages and applications using HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Visio
. Adhering to existing design standards, including Section 508
. Knowledge of ActionScript, XML, and XSLT prefered
Qualifications:
. Must understand and employ an user-centered approach and have an
excellent track record designing web-based applications UI
. Experience conducting task analysis, user analysis and usability
testing
. Expert knowledge of Section 508
. Expert knowledge of CSS and HTML
. Strong verbal and written communication skills
. Strong analytic and problem solving skills
. Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment as well as
independently
. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while
meeting deadlines
. Willingness to work extended hours, if necessary, to complete
projects according to schedule
. Must be detail oriented
. Bachelor of Fine Arts or related field
. Minimum of three years of experience designing web applications
