Position: Oracle Applications DBA
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6+ months
Location: IL{locals would be a great plus}
Rate: $52/hr
On a day to day basis candidates will be working with one other DBA and will
be responsible for applying patches, troubleshooting functional errors and
other duties as assigned.
Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience working with Oracle
11i eBusiness Suite
Drive and implement best practices for the Oracle 11i E-Business Suite
. Perform Apps management including: researching, planning, recommending
and implementing patches and upgrades of the Oracle 11i E-Business Suite
. Manage and audit the Oracle E-Business Suite
. Manage concurrent processing, profiles and workflows
. Assist in ERP architecture design, management and installation
. Assist in production DBA activities such as:
. Technical support for customer problems and ticket resolutions
. Database and Application security administration
. Cloning TEST and DEV environments through rapid clone
. Performance tuning: Application Tech Stack, Database Instance and
custom SQL code
. Join in the 24 x 7 x 365 support
. Solid working knowledge of AIX system administration and shell
scripting
. Conversant with Oracle Applications architecture in DMZ and Firewalls
. Work with development and business users to identify performance tuning
opportunities and implement them from an Applications perspective
. Develop and monitor automated processes, backups, concurrent manager
and alerts
. Perform issue troubleshooting, resolution documentation and escalation
with development teams
. Coordinate service requests with Oracle support utilizing Metalink for
daily support issues as well as leveraging current Oracle technologies
. Schedule, facilitate, and coordinate change control activities with
clear understanding of the change control process
. Analyze change data and communicate potential problems to other team
members
