Job Title : SAN UNIX engineer Location : Raleigh,NC Duration : 6+ Month Contract *They MUST have experience in building a UNIX server from scratch. Also, HAVE TO be able to implement storage arrays from ground up.* Job Summary: The Rapid Response Engineer is responsible for setting up and testing SAN configurations and testing of custom solutions designed to fill specific customer need in a UNIX environment. Specific Responsibilities: *Installing and configuring servers with multiple OS types: RHEL, OSX, Solaris, BSD, CentOs. Setting up SAN configurations with appropriate host bus adapters (HBAs), fibre channel switches and storage controllers to mimic customer environments. Executing and developing test plans. Using and developing automation tools to speed the process of completing specific test requirements. Working with senior developers to implement custom solutions for customers by writing PERL scripts, C/C++ or JAVA applications. Creating documentation which will be provided to Global Services to help support the customer. Provide escalation support to Global Services for configurations that have been certified by the team. This may include some off hours work if required. Less than 20% travel anticipated. Installing and configuring servers and various OS’s.* Experience Information: Exposure to software or hardware test methodologies. Interested in solving customer problems and enabling revenue for NetApp. Excellent oral and written communication skills Software development experience through course work or internship. Education: BSCS/CE or in related area required; or equivalent (7 years min).
