*Title: * Senior IBM System AS400 Developer *Location:* Chicago *Status: * Contractor *Duration:* 12 months *SUMMARY:* This consultant will be responsible for the IBM System i development. The purpose of the consultant is to provide technical problem solving skills on the IBM System i development platform. The consultant will assist in architecture and development of several projects, focused on the IBM System i development platform. The consultant will require an understanding of the numerous applications on the IBM System i platform, and how they interact with one another. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* Project requirement analysis. Provide open and scalable design solutions. Provide thoughtful and thorough development estimates. Provide quality development and documentation control. Complete time entry reporting and project task reporting in a timely manner. Must stay on the cutting edge of industry technologies. *REQUIRED SKILLS: * 10+ years of Professional experience. 5 years of IBM System i development experience. Technical expertise in IBM System i development languages, RPG/ILE, CL, Embedded SQL, IBM System i database development, DB2, Stored procedures, Triggers, DDS, SQL, IBM System i work management. Good team player and leadership skills. Excellent trouble shooting skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing software (Excel and MS. Word), and strong adaptability to various software application. *DESIRED SKILLS: * A working experience in financial is a plus.
