*Local or Nearby consultant* Title : Business Intelligence Business Systems Analyst Location : Boston, MA Duration : 3+ Months Contract Minimum Requirements: must interview in person! 10+ years in business analyst roles on large scale technology projects Working knowledge of Relational Databases, Data Modeling and Analytics skills; Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence theory and concepts. Experience Required: At least 5+ years of IT experience. At least 3 years of experience as a senior business analyst responsible for managing requirements of large complex projects. *At least 2 years experience as a business analyst involved in business intelligence and reporting / data focused applications. *At least 2 years experience as a business analyst implementing web based solutions for internet, extranet, and intranet applications. Knowledge of business process analysis and/or re-engineering using various methodologies such as RUP and agile methodologies Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills. Ability to translate complex business needs into use case models. Familiarity with reporting and ETL tools. Working knowledge of financial processes and basic data reconciliation. Must have excellent human relations, communications and analysis skills, planning and organizational proficiency and good business judgment. Must be familiar with IT business practices and be able to interface and integrate with IT and Agency functional areas. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Ability to perform related duties, as required. Skills Required: Collaborate with business owners, end users, and Subject Matter Experts to gather and document business requirements Gathers business requirements through a variety of techniques (e.g. work sessions and interviews) and facilitates design workshops (Business). Clarify and elaborate requirements when they are ambiguous, change, or conflict with other business requirements Review system design approaches to ensure they fully meet the business requirements Write use cases, business rules, and other artifacts such as swim lane diagrams and activity flow diagrams to effectively articulate and represent business processes, desired outcomes, and requirements Produce key documents, both in written and presentation format. Excellent problem solver with the ability to keep many driving factors and requirements in focus Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment Strong communication and documentation skills, ability to communicate and interact at executive and junior levels Consistent attention to detail Overall high degree of professionalism Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree with a major in the field of computer science, information science, human services, social work, public administration, or public policy 10+ years in business analyst roles on large scale technology projects Working knowledge of Relational Databases, Data Modeling and Analytics skills; Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence theory and concepts.
