*Position : **Network Traffic Engineer* *Location : San Diego, CA* *Duration : 6+ Months* *Job Description* *Roles & Responsibilities* - Analyzing, understanding and managing capacity on Broadband network - Traffic management across a multitude of interfaces - Design and deployment of Network Traffic Management Systems. - Excellent in troubleshooting and tuning of networking and communications protocols. - Experienced in traffic engineering and capacity management. - Perform analysis, notification, and trending of traffic statistics. - Create usage and scalability models, generate capacity reports, analyze traffic capacity for network telephony performance and sizing and recommend improvements to traffic routing. - Investigate traffic types, known and new, analyse usage, generate reports and graphs from traffic management platforms and tools. Liaise with stakeholders and others within the business as required - Management and development of related monitoring, alerting, diagnostic and reporting tools. - Strong analytical skills and competency in the use of traffic modeling tools and engineering *Technical Skill* - Languages: C/C++, Python, Perl , TCL or other scripting languages - OS: Linux/Unix OS and administration - Databases: Oracle, MySQL - Experience in design and deployment of Network Traffic Management Systems – Data statistics, Subscriber Management, Traffic shaping and enforcement, filtering, Quota management and Policy Charing Enforcement Systems (PCRF). - Working experience with DPI and traffic management/policing equipment eg.
