*Position: Hadoop Administrator * *Location: Cincinnati, Ohio* *Duration: 6 months* I have a requirement for a Hadoop Administrator here in Cincinnati and wanted to see if you'd be interested in helping me fill this requirement. When I say stellar, I mean *GC, EAD, or US citizen* who is *local* and has some type of *Hadoop certifications*. If they aren't local, that is totally fine, I'd just like* a solid candidate that will make the client want to hire this candidate based off a resume.* *Hadoop Administrator* *RESPONSIBILITIES:* - *(On a daily basis)* As a Hadoop Admin*, *you’ll be an individual contributor, with the opportunity to mentor, or do paired programming with a group of 8 resources and kelp train these resources within Hadoop Databases/mentorship. - Standing up clusters in Louisville where the information will be going into a client database - *(Business purpose)* This development team is responsible for developing a consumer web application utilized by 2+ million end-users on a nationwide scale. *ENVIRONMENT:* - *(Direct report)* You will be reporting directly to the Team Lead of Database engineering. Director of Database Engineering. - *(Team size)* 8-9 Developers - *(Company size) *700+ employees - *(Hours) *This is a Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM schedule with no chance of working remotely. - *(Dress code) *Business casual with jeans permitted on Friday. *REQUIREMENTS:* - *(Overall years of experience) *This requires a seasoned professional 4-6 years utilizing Hadoop within a big environment. Looking for someone who has been hand-on along with someone who has taught Hadoop development. - *(Preferred technologies) Oracle BDA *(Big Data Appliance) Hadoop, Cloudera, Kerberos Security. - *(Certifications required) *There are no required certifications, but development certifications would be a plus. - *(Location) *onsite- 100 W 5th St, Cincinnati, OH 45202 *Technical Responsibilities:* - The design, care, and feeding of Big Data environments built upon technologies in the Hadoop Ecosystem - Day-to-day troubleshooting of problems and performance issues in our clusters - Investigate and characterize non-trivial performance issues in various environments - Work with Systems and Network Engineers to evaluate new and different types of hardware to improve performance or capacity - Work with developers to evaluate their Hadoop use cases, provide feedback and design guidance - Responsible for ongoing administration of Hadoop infrastructure. - Work with data delivery teams to setup new Hadoop users.
