*Role: BI Engineer Location: New Albany, OH Duration: Long Term* *Job Description:* We are currently seeking a BI Engineer with experience to identify best approach to provide technology solutions to meet business report needs, provide detailed estimations, and translate functional into technical specifications for BEF BI team located in New Albany, OH. Business Intelligence (BI) engineer who can be an individual contributor with responsibility for installation, configuration, engineering and management of data environment that include reporting tool on multiple operating system platforms, languages, and network topologies. Complete understanding and own the reporting solution from design, development, testing and implementation. Provide support and troubleshooting for all related systems and technologies. Requires strong problem solving and communication skills to interpret issues and provide resolution. This includes being a point of contact for business users. Able to coordinate with vendor for escalation of support related issues. *Accountabilities:* Participates in business requirement gathering meetings with business users to understand all aspects of the business reporting Participates in full life cycle projects to understand business requirements and then complete the design, development, testing, implementation and post production support Architect and Design of reporting and analytical layer. Works with the Business Analyst and Other team members to define function and technical requirements. Extensive knowledge in data modeling, business intelligence, relational database design and knowledge of how to access multiple information sources for analytical purposes Assists end users in resolving and identifying system issues by providing application knowledge and technical expertise. Recommend appropriate solutions including risk analysis and work estimates Prepares/Produces the analytics standard document which defines the standards and methods to use when developing the analytical components of the solution along with user training documentation on new systems and functionality Thorough understanding of Data Warehousing architectures, techniques, and methodologies; including Star Schemas, Snowflake Schemas, Slowly Changing Dimensions, and Aggregation Techniques All other duties as assigned. *Knowledge:* Extensive technical knowledge of Information Technology field and computer systems Strong organizational and time management skills Strong ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities, and appropriately prioritize Experience with Enterprise Metadata Design, Development, Administration, and Support within the BI Toolset Experience with Performance Optimization tuning and techniques Requires hands-on experience with any of the common BI toolsets (MicroStrategy, Cognos , Oracle OBIEE, Business Objects) Experience using any of ETL tools (Datastage, Informatics ) Ability to work seamlessly within a team, react quickly to a fast paced, rapidly changing environment Strong capacity for logical thinking with the ability to understand complex applications Excellent written and verbal communication skills *Education/Experience:* Bachelor’s degree and or combination of equivalent education and experience in related fields 4+ years hands on experience providing solution design with any BI systems (MicroStrategy preferred) 4+ years hands on experience developing BI reports with any BI tools preferred (MicroStrategy preferred) 3+ years hands on experience using databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Netezza ) 5+ years of overall experience in providing BI solutions/development. *QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
