*Gaithersburg, MD -local pref* *Phone interview * *H1 OK if they have good comm skills * *3 months* *Splunk Developer Network Engineer * Description ● Lead the adoption of Splunk as a tool for the enterprise ● Develop an operational Splunk proof-of-concept / pilot ● Support the client as a Splunk Enterprise & Splunk IT Service subject matter expert ● Design and implement Splunk infrastructure, deployment, products, apps, reports, alerts, and dashboards ● Manage Splunk knowledge objects (Apps, Dashboards, Saved Searches, Scheduled Searches, Alerts) ● The ability to create, de-code and debug complex Splunk queries. ● In-depth knowledge of database design for optimal Splunk efficiency and design. ● Ensuring the Splunk environment continuously meets specification in terms of business requirements (SLA’s), application design (standards), and infrastructure performance (KPI’s) ● Build strong relationships with internal technology partners, and provide coaching & mentorship to technology teams ● Provide technical expertise and consultancy to the network implementation team ● Governance of change to ensure solution integrity and platform stability ● Partnership with the Service Management teams to develop solution roadmaps for the various functions that the platform supports ● Execute a plan to educate Service Managers and Shared-service leaders on the benefits and use cases for the Splunk platform. ● Engagement with avenues of influence (Splunk product managers, user groups, etc.) to align platform capabilities with business requirements ● Experience with Network Managements Systems and Splunk integrations ● Tier 3 Troubleshooting & Escalation Support ● Knowledge Transfer of the design, implementation, and operation as determined by the IT team * Requirements* ● 7+ years of experience ● 3+ years of Splunk experience ● Demonstrable experience acting as a technology consultant ● Experience designing, implementing and troubleshooting Splunk solutions ● Experience creating, and maintaining Splunk applications ● Knowledge of SQL & PL/SQL ● Experience as a DBA also preferred ● Experience with scripting languages such as PERL preferred ● Experience and familiarity with IT management products and services ● Experience with WAN performance analysis ● Understanding of LAN Technologies ● Understanding of WAN Technologies ● Understanding of network services including: DNS, NTP, Syslog, and SNMP ● Excellent Troubleshooting and Problem Analysis skills ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills required ● Solid time management and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment ● Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, and prioritize ● Must have the ability to take a consultative approach to provide leadership and guidance Priyanka Katiyar Technical Recruiter Nityo Infotech Corp.
