*Job Description:*



Following are highlights of the requirements

   - Strong on SAG’s ADABAS  database( V7 onwards),  NATURAL ( v427 to
   V824) , PREDICT.
   - Good knowledge of  IBM MF  Z/OS  V1.3  onward.
   - Strong working experience with  RRDF,  APAS and  TRIM products beside
   SAG family od products.
   - Working experience with MQ series and MDM will be an added value.
   - Strong communication skills to support large groups of developers.
   - Dedicated and self-supporting
   - Preferably based in Colorado.



Some of the expected detailed activities are:

1.        PREDICT activities in support of DEVL work.

2.       Re-generating DDM’s from PREDICT.

3.       Application support (new fields, file copies, performance issues)

4.       Support DEVL staff with Natural issues.

5.       On-call support every Saturday.

6.       Coverage for staff members when they take PTO.

7.       RRDF troubleshooting

8.       Strong Adabas utilities

9.       Work nights and on the weekend, flexibility to cover Saturday
nights or Sunday night





·         Install the database management software on the enterprise
server, apply patches and bug fixes, and perform major version upgrades.

*·         *Install, test, and debug peripheral software for use by
programming staff and Database Administrators*.*

·         Diagnose and resolve system failure/interruption through the use
of dumps and manual problem determination.

·         Establish, install, and maintain ITD database management systems
operating standards.

·         Identify physical storage areas and define logical mappings to
those areas.

·         After setting up the logical devices (volume groups, etc.),
create databases on those devices and assign administrative responsibility
to the DBA.

·         Manage system configuration settings, including the amount of
server memory and how it’s allocated, the number of concurrent user
connections and open databases, and the number of locks and sizing of
buffer pools. These settings affect system availability and performance.

·         Maintain database management system and peripheral software
through the application of ZAPS and/or source code fixes.

·         Write and maintain assembler user exits for the database
management system and peripheral software.

*Qualifications:*

·         Minimum 3-5 years' experience in systems programming and 2 years'
experience as an analyst.

·         *Superior debugging skills.*

·         Extensive knowledge of electronic data processing systems,
principles and techniques, including IBM Z/OS assembler and job control
languages.

·         Extensive knowledge of *ADABAS 8.2, Natural 4.2*, *Predict Data
Dictionary* and Com-Plete.

·         Knowledge of Z/OS operating system concepts.

·         Thorough knowledge of the applications for and use of ADABAS and
Natural including their capabilities and programming techniques.

·         Ability to investigate/resolve problems in a time constrained
environment.

·         Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written
instructions.

·         Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral
communication skills.
