Strong experience in implementing and managing multiple Oracle 9i and 10g databases; including performance tuning, SQL tuning and database security. Experience and in-depth understanding of Oracle backup and recovery methodologies including RMAN. Experience in disaster recovery and high-availability products including Oracle RAC and Oracle Replication. Practical knowledge with multi-node and multi-tier environments and managing standby and RAC databases. Experience with tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle and UNIX shell scripting. Experience working with Oracle Support including understanding the Oracle problem management process of opening, managing, and resolving tickets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Expertise in hardware infrastructure including server, storage and network components. Implementing and supporting enterprise level, mission critical Oracle 9 & 10g databases and Oracle RAC databases. This position is to support 5x24 application development and testing of critical Oracle databases. Database installation. Systems administration. Software maintence & upgrades; Security; Disaster recovery; Cloning; Backup and recovery; Performance tuning; Capacity management; Troubleshooting. Primary work shift will be normal day shift Monday to Friday but may require limited off shift work hours.
