*Senior Linux System Administrator and Mid-level System Administrator.

*This individual will be a member of the IT team that is responsible for
Linux, network, and storage architectures spanning multiple environments and
multiple locations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience
with sizing, building, configuration, and maintenance of Unix/Linux systems
(physical, virtual, and in the cloud), networks, and large scale storage
systems. The candidate should also have proven experience in handling
projects from conception to completion, a desire to work within a close knit
team, strong written and verbal communication skills, along with serious
customer focus. He or she will be able to balance the demands of multiple
parallel projects and succeed with limited supervision. Good planning skills
are important, as is the ability to react quickly to unexpected changes,
events, or situations.

Typical day-to-day activities will include system builds and upgrades,
managing virtual and cloud instances, software installation, executing
change controls, system and network troubleshooting, ticket queue
management, end-user interaction, responding to monitoring alerts, and
maintaining forward progress with current projects.

Responsibilities include:

* Architect, implement and administer various IT solutions
* Implement and administer network/server monitoring applications
* Develop and improve scripts and tools that automate manual procedures
* Contribute and adhere to standards including server builds, security, and
production migration
* 24x7 rotational on-call support
* Create and maintain detailed up-to-date technical documentation
* Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution activities with other
support teams and engineers.**​** Produce Root Cause Analysis findings that
focus on recommendations to learn from and avoid problem recurrence.**​**
* Respond to end-user help requests and trouble tickets
* Enhance and fulfill security requirements and best practices


Requirements

* 7+ years experience in Unix/Linux (prefer Red Hat Enterprise, CentOS)
system administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and
automation in 24x7 production environment
* 5+ years experience as primary administrator for email, DNS,
virtualization, and/or network equipment (routers, load balancers,
firewalls)
* Intermediate to expert knowledge of cloud computing and storage
technologies
* Familiarity with server virtualization technologies
* Solid written and verbal communication, organization, and analytical
skills
* Excellent customer focus, team integration, and positive attitude
* Capable of managing multiple projects and integrating new project
requirements effectively
* Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining security best
practices
* Experience managing servers remotely in a distributed environment
* Hands-on experience with large storage systems, especially EMC
* Expert level knowledge of DNS, Email, and TCP/IP networking
* Hands-on experience with automating server builds with kickstart,
configuration management, patching, and software deployment
* Strong experience operating and troubleshooting common applications such
as apache, tomcat, sendmail, postfix, tinyDNS, BIND
* Experience with network management tools including SNMP, IDS/IPS
* Advanced scripting skills and tools development
* Familiar with Windows and Linux integration (LDAP/AD, DNS, SAMBA)
* Willingness to participate in occasional weekend and off hour maintenance
or break-fix activities, and on-call rotation
* BS or BA degree in a related field*
