*Windows System Admin Consultant* *Location:* Charlotte, NC *Length:* 6+ months *Skills:* Distributed Server *Description:* * Supports the authentication technologies used in the infrastructure (e.g. Windows Active Directory, NetWare, LDAP, etc.) * Works more independently on systems administration tasks of moderate risk to the environment. * Identifies and recommends process improvements to provide more effective troubleshooting of moderately complex hardware and software problems. * Interfaces with cross-functional Information Technology (IT) staff / teams to ensure the maintenance of a secure systems environment, as well as the implementation of effective data recovery procedures. * Produce project plans and progress reports, as required by management. *Responsibilities: ** Windows 2003 and 2008 server builds. *Required Education/ Experience: ** BS or technical institute degree / certificate in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, technical designations and work experience. * Approximately 3 to 5 years of related experience in IT functions. * Good working knowledge of IT industry and its role in supporting business applications. * Can operate independently in handling moderately complex systems administration tasks. * Good understanding of project management disciplines. * 5+ years experience with Windows/Intel server tuning, optimization and capacity planning. * 3+ years experience supporting SAN or NAS attached Windows servers (preferably Hitachi, Netapp). * 3+ years experience with Patch Management (e.g. WSUS). * 3+ years experience with Anti-Virus technologies.
