*Location: CT* *Duration: 6 Months* *Rate: $50/hr CTC * * * *Position Summary* Hyperion System 9 Planning Developer - Maintenance of currently developed *Hyperion Planning* and *Essbase* applications, including development of new functionality and processes (*metadata, sub-variables, business rule and calc script development)* within the application. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. Under general direction, formulates and defines system scope and objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results. Prepares detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs. Provides technical leadership on complex projects. May act as expert in business applications and/or cross functional areas. Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced programmer/analysts. *Additional Candidate Information* CANDIDATE MUST HAVE 7+ YEARS WITH HYPERION PLANNING. Experience/Skills Required- Must have deep knowledge of *Hyperion Essbase calc script* and Planning business rules development; experience with SQL based data load rules, ASO reporting database, adding new functionality and enhancements to the deployed reporting solution; Ability to optimize data loads and calculations within ASO and BSO Essbase architecture; Expert knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Planning, and Financial Reporting administration and configuration; Must have completed at least two large Hyperion Planning implementations using project management methodology; Ability to work closely with business end-users to identify new functionality and requirements; Experience with accounting and finance and their impact on financial management and reporting tools and systems; Experience with planning and forecasting processes for a large corporation; Experience in development processes and control framework for financial systems and reporting tools; Proactive technical leadership skills with the ability to work independently and within a team; Ability to mentor others on Hyperion technology; Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to work with varying levels of business customers and IT support; Ability to work in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities; Must have solid understanding of change control and testing methodologies.; Technologies Required: Hyperion Planning, Essbase, BSO/ASO, Financial Reporting, ODI in Windows Server 2003 environment, SQL Server, and Websphere. *Additional Skills*: Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word etc) skills, knowledge of Visual Basic a plus.
