proactive Visual Designer who wants to create compelling and engaging UI
components for online products and services in a dynamic corporate setting.
You will be helping us evolve our site to the next level of quality and
innovation, while applying current standards to deliver a consistent site
experience. The successful Visual Designer thinks strategically, is
flexible, and executes with an eye to detail at the pixel level. This person
is also able to multitask and interact with a multidisciplinary team. We are
considering candidates who enjoy working on a collaborative team and adapt
easily to a fast-paced changing environment. If you have a passion for
design excellence, an outstanding set of visual design skills, and a

Conceptualize and design GUI components that
successfully translate business goals and requirements
Work with Interaction Designers, copywriters,
Marketing and Product Managers to understand project needs, and to implement
successfully the AutoTrader brand
Work with IT to assure deployment of products that
are true to original design intent
Proactively contribute to an open and productive
atmosphere within the design team
Prepare estimates, plan schedules and create comps
Champion design rationale when presenting to
internal clients and project team members
Adhere to AutoTrader.com visual design standards and
branding guidelines in order to maintain consistency and quality across
applications and products
Attend design reviews and Usability testing to iterate designs
6+ years experience designing GUI components with
emphasis in visual design
Extensive experience working in a team-based
iterative design environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience leading project teams as well as serving
as individual contributor
Proven skills to balancing multiple projects
concurrently
Solid understanding of graphic design principles and
best practices for online GUI design
Proactive work style, consensus-building teamwork
and productive collaboration skills
Adobe software proficiency expected, (Photoshop,
Illustrator, InDesign, Flash)
Experience translating wireframes into successful
Visual Design
Presentation, prototyping, Visio, CSS, HTML,
JavaScript, MS Project skills a plus
Good prioritization, planning and organizational
skills
Attention to detail and follow through
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Computer
Graphics, Digital Media Design or other visual arts .
Online portfolio is required
