Background in embedded technology Android/Linux Experience - Must have experience with Android OS, the Android SDK and Linux operating systems and tools. Embedded SW Testing Experience - Experience with testing embedded software such as handheld units. Testing and QA - Develop test processes, design/implement test tools, write/maintain manual and automated test suites, and create test plans and test case design (including black-box and white-box test methodologies). Desktop Testing Experience - Testing of Linux, Android, Windows, and OS X Applications & configuration testing in these environments. *Other skills:* Strong experience with embedded systems products in consumer markets. 3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems. Experience with Linux development and test tools. Intermediate skills in Unix/Linux commands. Experience with Linux Wine application and related tools. Experience with web-based and/or Java application servers. Intermediate skills in Networking. Hands on development experience on Android. Working experience with the Android SDK. Comprehensive usage of Android APIs for different applications and tools. Experience with Android driver testing. Experience with developing automation strategies and test harnesses in Java/Linux. Good Development experience in core Java. Working knowledge and fundamentals of C language. Test experience with commercial software is required. Must be meticulous and focus oriented in nature. Experience working with Handheld devices, Calculators or educational software is a plus but not mandatory. *Preferred skills:* Desired, but not required, programming experience in C/C++, Python or Perl scripting, and testing of Application Programming Interfaces. *Job Description:* Solid understanding of QA methodology. Create and execute test cases defined in the test strategy for a product/project. Provide periodic status reports on progress in assigned test areas. Effectively communicate issues that are discovered while testing. This includes, but is not limited to, logging issues into a defect tracking database. Effectively discuss and execute the testing strategy defined for the project/product. Ability to make quick adjustments in focus and direction as required for the successful completion of a project. *Other duties:* Review technical documents, including requirement specifications, architecture documents, and user documentation. Assess, from a test standpoint, the potential impact of requests for changes to the design or scope of the software under test. Use appropriate tools, including automated test execution tools, code coverage tools, and test result evaluation tools, to aid the test effort. Quickly learn necessary skills to handle new assignments as and when required. Follow project schedule and complete assignments on time.
