Position: Disaster Recovery – BCP Analyst

Duration: 6 month project (may extend couple months more)

Location: Mountain View, CA

Rate: open rates



*Notes: Looking for someone who can support a Director/Lead on this project.
Want someone with experience but not too senior because they are reporting
into a lead already on the project. Someone who can bring best practices
from other BCP implementations would be great.*



      Work as the liaison between the CTO’s PMO office, OEI and IIT PMO to
support DR/HA demand / forecasting

·        Co-develop the DR/HA critical dependency tracking mechanism that;

a.      Links application critical dependencies from TILES database (our
application profile DB) and factor in location dependencies, time boundaries
and constraints, “black out” dates,

b.      Provide the enterprise with a view of DR/HA-migration-tech refresh
plans linked by predecessors.

·        Collating, sorting and helping to prioritize the in-flight and
planned DR/HA projects into a HA/DR Project Tracker  or to become PPM tool
trained to effect the same outcome.

·        Maintain the DR cost tracking mechanism as received from PD-IT and
support applications that required DR/HA cost estimates.

·        Support the DR initiative from a process and tracking perspective.

·        Assist with E2E DR documentation development – taking direction,
co-developing some content and finalizing.

·        Assist with the implementation of our BCP Planning Tool (we are
issuing an RFP)

a.      Coordinating the development of Intuit meta-data from initial
request to collational, editing, confirming and data-entry.

b.      Assisting with set up of 50 named users in the tool.

·        Provide DR/HA process guidance and troubleshooting.

1.      Familiarity with BCP/DR fundamentals

a.      BIA’s

b.      Risk Assessments

c.      DR Technology

d.      DR best practices and application

2.      Database skills

a.      Ability to describe data field functions and use within a database
context so that a database analyst can develop a db solution. Does not
require the analyst to do development work, but be able to work with an DBA
to describe what is necessary (fields and functions) and approve the
results.

b.      Strong data modeling skills.

c.      Familiarity with computer architectures, systems, hosting
strategies, BCP/DR best practices

d.      DR/HA compliance issues, especially for the banking sector.

3.      Flowcharting using Visio

4.      Solid project management skills

5.      DR implementation background
