The Availability Engineer will ensure WSS critical applications are always available and running at peak performance by providing pro-active alerting when critical thresholds are met or exceeded. Work with the firms' core technology groups, will identify and mitigate monitoring gaps on an application by application basis, create visualization dashboards based on customer requirements, provide subject matter expertise as part of application implementations, and participate in special engagements such as P1/S1 processes. The position has a technical focus and is primarily responsible for the detailed analysis and design of availability monitoring solutions. Have the practical experience to perform availability monitoring activities required to design and engineer the application's availability plans. Knowledge of availability monitoring methodologies & best practices is required. Design and engineer availability monitoring plans, which contain current server configurations, process mappings, threshold expectations and constraints for each application for which the team is responsible. Prepare a technical profile which contains monitoring requirements and the recommend tools for the servers and application. In addition to technical expertise, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts are of significant importance. *Qualification* Dynamic, results-driven software integrator with BS in Computer Science and 10+ years of experience designing, implementing and maintaining robust systems and tools supporting business growth, security, stability and profitability for financial companies and industry leaders. Astute analyst, strategic thinker and creative problem solver. Personable, articulate and persuasive presenter; clearly communicate technical matters to business leaders. Orchestrated multiple and complex demands that unfailingly met client expectations, project budgets and sensitive business timelines.
