In addition to these primary development responsibilities, the role also involves proposing pro-active enhancements to overall performance/stability of the e-Commerce system and will be responsible for: - Develop and support Fixed-Income trading and analytics applications, primarily in Java and J2EE. - The role primarily focuses on developing trade system and supporting existing applications. - The developer will be expected to follow SDLC principles and work independently as well as in a team to solve complex technical problems. - This global team teams delivers key value-adding functionality to the trading desks. - Clients are primarily front office, but the team also interacts with members of operations, product control, financial control and risk. - Work location is 7033 Louis Stephens Drive, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, 27709 *Qualifications*: - Candidates should have a mastery of Java with a minimum of 5 years of experience; looking for a strong independent developer with programming experience in Java and J2EE. - Mastery of SOA tools (messaging, web-services, XML libraries). - Good database skills, with multiple RDBMS systems. - Experience with Multi-threading and asynchronous messaging workflows. - Prior work experience in the banking/financial sector is preferred, but not required. - Empathy for the end-user. - Intermediate Unix experience required. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact daily with clients at all levels. - The ideal candidate will have strong organization skills and able to work well in a team environment. - Experience working with fixed-income products and analytics (understands the problem space and user requirements well; knows the inputs to valuation models) is a huge plus. - Experience with risk systems is a big plus.
