The reports may be created from multiple integrated databases and data stores. Responsibilities include: * * - Develop Reports and dashboards using Cognos Reports application and appropriate supporting technology, such as ETL, Framework Manager, SQL Stored Procedures, Business Views, Data Warehouse concepts and other third party tools - Review User Requirements Specification (URS) prior to attending URS Review meeting and participate in review of URS with project team - Ensure delivery of all project deliverables in accordance with project schedule - Provide technical support for standard reports - Perform adequate unit testing for all system components - Lead Functional Requirements Specification (FRS) review - Proper communication of project status to project team members and Supervisor - Ensure that all development and ongoing maintenance is performed according to Guidelines - Facilitate the implementation of process and/or technology improvements and develop supporting SOPs/WIs/Development Guidelines - Suggest and develop improvements and solutions to existing problems. Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes for the department - Participate in client audits for items pertaining to systems developed - Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more areas within department as needed - Provide on-call support - Project Ownership: Ensure quality of product being released to production through Implementation Review checks - Provide project time and budget estimates for reports - Provide time estimates to PMs for new reports and changes to existing reports - Interact with Data Services group to facilitate knowledge sharing and provide forum for problem solving and solution analysis - Participate on other Corporate Projects, that integrate with Cognos reports, as assigned by management - Identify and remediate areas within department that have Single Points of Failure (SPOF) Required Skills: · Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience required · Course work in technical discipline or equivalent work experience · 2 years working knowledge working with SQL Server 2000 or higher · 2 years experience with stored procedures (T-SQL) · 3 years experience with Cognos (ETL, Framework Manager, Report development) plus skills to create a data warehouse using the process of ETL (Extract Transform and Load) and the component SSIS (SQL Integration Services) and the ability to follow the life cycle from an operational database into a Data Warehouse with results in a Cognos report · Exposure to database integration techniques including data modeling, data normalization, and other relevant data manipulation as well as data exchange technologies helpful · Normal Business Hours based on a nine hour workday; availability to provide coverage beyond regular business hours, as necessary. *Preferred Qualifications:*** · Cognos certification · Exposure to documentation/process associated with SDLC in a regulated environment. · DTS (Data Transformation Services) · Working knowledge of C#.net or VB.net · Familiarity with VB script or J script · Experience with XML, XSLT · Experience with Crystal Reports 8.0 or higher · Experience Administering Business Objects · Knowledge of OOP/D (Object Oriented Programming/Design * * * * * * * * * * * * *Regards, * *Raja* *GENERAL CONSULTING SERVICES,* Office: 610-621-1705 | Fax: 610-482-9315 [email protected] *I sent this email through Google/Yahoo Groups.
