Respond promptly to maintenance tickets. · Document installation, configuration, and troubleshooting procedures. · Provide weekly status reports to the UNIX work lead or Operations Manager to keep everyone informed of projects and Data Center hardware/software issues. · Fulfill work requests from IT users for new accounts, disk space, password resets, etc. as received and ensure that status is updated. · Help remote and over-seas Administrators complete tasks during day shift. · Schedule maintenance windows with server owners. Represent change and maintenance plans in change control meetings. · Keep other administrator’s updated on project status and update project status in PMO project tool. · Update equipment inventory for tracking purposes. Maintain asset and configuration management databases. · Attend weekly Unix Support Staff meetings *Requirements*** At least 3 years of experience working in a Global Enterprise Unix environment including at least 75% of the following. · Build and troubleshoot Veritas Cluster Server Service HA Groups · Build and troubleshoot MC/ServiceGuard HA Packages · Build and troubleshoot Sun Cluster HA service groups · Build, configure and troubleshoot problems with Veritas and ext3 filesystems. · Build, configure and troubleshoot problems with Veritas Volume Manager and HP’s Logical Volume Manager. · Shell Script troubleshooting including ksh, bash, and Perl. · Experience supporting UNIX operating systems including Linux, Solaris, and HP-UX in a large enterprise environment. · Familiarity with various server hardware configurations including Intel, SPARC, PA-RISC, Integrity, and HP’s blade technology. · Knowledge of enterprise storage software including HP’s Data Protector, EMC’s Avamar, EMC’s Control Center, EMC’s Data Domain products. · Experience troubleshooting and configuring network interface redundancy technologies; bonding, IPMP, APA. · Experience with configuring UNIX servers behind load-balancers; Cisco and F5. · Experience with 3-teir UNIX environments; Web servers, Java and Apache Application servers, Oracle and MySQL databases. · Experience with virtualization technologies; EMC’s VMWare, Esx Servers, Vmotion, DRS (dynamic resource scheduling), Storage Motion. · Administration of a Global DNS environment using Berkley Bind and Cisco Network Registrar (CNR). · Experience working productively in and with global teams. · Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff.
