*Job Description*



*1.*     *BASIC PURPOSE:*

        A significant aspect of strong risk management practices mandated by
the Fed - is a requirement to have analytical tools in place to be able to
view and report on data from many perspectives. We require an experienced
BI/DWH architect to install, manage, develop and maintain Business
Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehouse (DWH) solutions. This resource will
build BI models, design, develop and review standard and adhoc reports,
dashboards and scorecards against an integrated DWH and diverse disparate
Operational data-sets. This resource will also be responsible for the Data
Architecture, Data Analysis and ETL Design of the DWH layer. This resource
will be working independently of a larger team looking at Operational
systems that have not been migrated to the DWH and help create the BI layer
on top of the DWH.



*2.     MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:*

Develop BI metadata and models for standard, adhoc reporting, analysis and
risk dashboards.

Tune BI models and reports for performance issues. Identify need for indexes
and materialized views.

Develop DWH data models and be responsible for the physical and logical
database layer.

Analyze Operational Data Sources to identify the design of the subject areas
of the DWH.

Design ETL logic and build ETL mapping specifications for global ETL
development team.

Support the business with report questions as it relates to functionality
and performance.

Lead the internal review process of reports, adhoc queries built by business
users and identify duplicate calculations, filters etc. that can be built in
the DWH or into the Cognos model.

Work closely with the Project manager and Development Manager to define
project timelines, and to manage requirements. Estimate DWH and BI work.

Work closely with ETL, Data architecture and software quality assurance
leads to provide insight on business requirements and user goals.



*3.     REQUIREMENTS: *



*Education and Experience*

Bachelor’s degree; Advanced degree a plus

7+ years functioning as a BI/DWH Architect.

Financial services experience required; Risk and compliance experience a
plus

5+ years Data Warehousing experience



*Skills/Knowledge*

Proficient with Cognos 8 and 10 (Framework Manager, Transformer, Metrics
Server, Analysis Studio, Report Studio, Query Studio, Go Mobile)

Proficient in DWH and ETL design

Demonstrated ability to solve problems of diverse scope and working in
complex environments

Proficient in Data Modeling tools like ERWin or Embarcadero

Familiarity with ETL tools like Data Stage

Proficient with Oracle 10 and 11G RDBMS

Proficient with RUP development methodology and Clearcase and Clearquest
tools

Performance tuning experience required

Cognos and Database security experience required

Requires superior communication skills to communicate with business users
and defend BI and Data Warehouse design in large group settings in front of
enterprise Architects

Ability to operate independently or as a member of a cross functional team
