Summary: , We’re looking for a senior developer who is able to easily converse with other technical staff, on matters of designing for an enterprise application, and basic architecture, including when a certain design pattern should be used versus another one. A great team player and a good level of confidence is needed. We expect the developer to not falter on almost all Java related questions. We are planning on supporting the Android platform, as well, and require that the developer have some tangible experience in developing on it, and with HTML 5. Experience with porting from Flex 3 to HTML 5 is a plus. UML and Agile experience is preferred. The developer, like all our developers here, are expected to “run with the ball” for small efforts, and provide designs and implementations that have been thought through well. We’re trying to create an entrepreneur organization mentality in the group and the developer should be able to fit into this culture. The ability to prototype with new technologies/hardware will be required. The person should be flexible to work on more than one prioritized task in a period, and be flexible to changing their implementation and design based on the application’s future direction. The individual must also be able to easily converse on an abstract layer with management, and coherently present his/her ideas. We would prefer to interview those individuals who have either designed for teams (no matter the size) in the past, or have coded for themselves outside of the workplace, or have coded interactions with any hardware. , Education/Experience , o Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent training required , o 8 years related experience required , Responsibility level , o Exercises independent judgment with direction from supervisor , Skills , o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required) , o Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time (Required) , o Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback (Required) , o Strong knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software (Required) , o Strong knowledge of design techniques and principles (Required) , o Strong knowledge of relational databases (Required) , Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: , o Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance , o Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints , o Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met , o Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design , o Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, and security needs to determine hardware configuration , o Consult with customers about software system design and maintenance , o Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces , o Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation , EXTRA NOTE: , Candidate must be primarily a core java developer.
