Position 1: Java Developer Role: Location: NYC No of Positions: 1 Duration: 6m+ Start: Immediate Client: Banking Rate: open Main Function The job opening is for a Senior Application Developer who will work across various global initiatives supporting the enhancements required in the US Regulatory and Financial Control business functions to accommodate the new provisions mandated by the Federal Reserve. Managed as a programme covering various Finance, Operations and Prime Services Technology teams, it will have multiple active streams over the course of next 24 months which are expected to directly impact capital calculations and reporting functions across Finance. The candidate will play a key role in the development of these solutions to ensure the firm’s successful response and timely compliance to the commitments to the regulators. Main Duties The individual will have responsibility to: • The main job function of this role is application development using primarily Informatica and Oracle technologies. • The candidate will be responsible for developing and enhancing Barclays Capital applications. This includes technical assessment of requirements received, solution design, build/test the approved design and implementation into production environment in accordance with SDLC best practices. Main Function • Work as a business analyst on the CCS IT team. • Capture and analyze business requirements and underlying business context. • Create functional specifications to support the requirements. • Work with the CCS IT and Finance Controllers Change team and their supporting technology teams (e.g. TDB). • Create Data Mappings and Data Dictionaries. • Support quality assurance testing and user acceptance testing. • The job holder will be involved in the production of detailed Functional Requirements documents, design reviews and system testing approach & scripting. Main Duties • Working with user representatives to determine business requirements, including the identification of any potential issues or functional omissions. • Define and document business requirements. • Define and document current state and proposed state. • Assist and/or lead user workshops for requirement definition • Liaise with development team for solution definition. • Define and document functional requirements including specific data attribution. • Liaise with testing team for system test definition and execution. • Assist with preparation, co-ordination and execution of User Acceptance Testing • Oversee documentation for testing approach/strategy. • Assist with progress reporting, identification and management of issues/risks and communications. • The ability to rapidly understand the business processes that drive the applications.
