Our client seeks a highly motivated Senior DBA to work and collaborate with
a global team of onshore and offshore DBAs, Developers, and Testing Teams.

The individual will interface with teams across different IT Infrastructure
and Applications groups.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of IT Operations.
The Oracle database services team is responsible for the availability,
performance, integrity and reliability of our client’s corporate databases
and EBS Applications.
We are looking for an energetic and experienced DBA to help grow the
business by defining and delivering industry leading next generation
services architected for the cloud.  The Senior DBA is responsible for
managing, maintaining and improving all database (Oracle, mySQL, MS SQL)
and EBS systems, primarily focusing on project support of SLDC
non-Production instances.
He/she is responsible for the overall health and performance of the Oracle
and SQL Database environments and ensures system availability and stability
is consistent.
The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, fast growing, and
demanding environment.
He/she will regularly contribute and communicate the technical vision for
EBS, Oracle, SQL databases to team members, development, and IT management.
This person must be able to effectively communicate both technical details
and summarized impact analysis to Management.
They will define and ensure Operational best practices are documented and
followed by working closely with other DBAs on a variety of technologies in
a leadership and mentoring role.
They possess a deep desire in learning new technologies and new
applications of existing technologies while operating in a discipline and
controlled operations environment.
The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of SDLC Change and Release
management and possesses a deep understanding of security and SOX policies
and processes.

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

• Perform day to day management and administration activities to ensure
project databases are online and operating optimally using Configuration,
Performance, and Capacity management best practices and standards
• Collaborate with project, architecture, and release teams, providing
input on architectural design recommendations, driving standards, plan and
execute effective transition to production operations
• Maintain high availability and performance for production SQL Databases
used by Finance and PSO organizations
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production and SDLC
environments (SQL databases, scheduled jobs, stored procedures, DTS
packages and application issues) reported through monitoring systems,
support teams, and trouble tickets as per established SLAs
• Perform database installations, configurations, and upgrades/migrations.
• Monitor and tune database performance for compliance with internal
standards. Creating indexes, synonyms, views, etc. as well as recommending
tuning parameters and best practices.
• Responsible for backup, recovery and tuning of multiple Oracle and SQL
databases.
• Install scripts, applying patches as required
• Define operational processes for Run book and SOP documentation,
automating routine operational tasks
• Drive Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes working with
NOC, Operations, Development, and Management teams to ensure operational
consistency and service improvement.
• Define, implement and perform database backup and recovery solutions
• Provide best practices to implement and cross-training on operational
standards, processes, and procedures
• Manage database storage using Oracle ASM and file systems
• Performance tuning of OLTP and Data Warehouse databases by using
available tools, such as, STATSPACK or AWR Reports
• Assist development team in tuning  of SQL/SQL*Plus, PL/SQL ,and stored
procedures/packages
• Implement shell or Perl scripting languages as required
• Configure HA solution including  DataGuard
• Creating database administration processes and controls to meet security
and compliance audit requirements for SOX, PCI and ISO17001
• Ability to document and implement database administration architectures
and operational procedures
• Adhere to Change, Release, Incident, Problem management processes
• Participate on the 24x7 on call rotation as needed.

*REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:*

• 6+ years’ experience in performing Oracle database administration Oracle
RDBMS and mySQL environments.
• Thorough knowledge of Oracle RDBMS 10g, and 11g environments on
virtualized Linux environments
• Thorough knowledge of Oracle mySQL and MS SQL environments on virtualized
Linux environments
• Working knowledge of supporting Open Databases such as Postgres is desired
• Strong Oracle database and Oracle RAC implementations, mySQL clustering
experience and troubleshooting skills in mission critical environments
• Strong knowledge on best practices to implement standards, processes, and
procedures
• Strong knowledge in implementing HA solutions
• Strong knowledge of database backup and recovery solutions; off host and
on host
• Strong knowledge on Oracle RMAN
• Strong knowledge of monitoring tools such as OEM /Oracle Grid for 10g and
11g
• Strong knowledge and experiences in using Oracle ASM and file systems in
managing database storage
• Demonstrated experience in performing data migrations and database
application upgrades from Oracle 10g or 11g
• In-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures
• In-depth knowledge and experiences in tuning of OLTP and Data Warehouse
databases by using available tools, such as, STATSPACK or AWR Reports
• Strong knowledge of SQL/SQL*Plus and strong understanding of PL/SQL and
stored procedures/packages
• Strong knowledge of shell or Perl scripting languages.
• Strong knowledge in configuring or maintaining DataGuard.
• Strong communication skills and customer-support focused attitude
• Strong knowledge of creating database administration processes and
controls to meet security and compliance audit requirements for SOX, PCI
and ISO17001
• Ability to document and implement database administration architectures
and operational procedures
• Innovative problem solving skills
• Clear understanding of the SDLC ITIL software lifecycle
• Works well both independently and as part of a team; attention to detail
is essential for this position

• Bachelors and/or Master Degree
• Oracle EBS 11i certified, Oracle 10g/11g certified
• IT certification (ITIL, VCP,VCSP) or equivalent
