This role will be an integral member of the business architecture team.
The role will provide data capture, integration, analysis, reporting and
insight support related to internal business architecture projects.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Business Architects to support business
architecture engagements.  Collect, classify, analyze, validate and report
on information gathered in engagements in coordination with the architect.

• Capture, synthesize and publish notes / minutes and associated data from
business architecture engagements.

• Work closely with Business, Enterprise, Solution another other technical
architecture teams to understand data resources and how existing assets can
be leveraged to help address the business challenges

• Performs detailed data analysis, identify trends, anomalies and patterns
in data, including advisement on data collection and storage best practices
to enable downstream reporting

• Model new business data relationships to address business challenges /
opportunities

• Facilitates review sessions with business users and other team members

• Provides estimates for work effort on projects



*Desirable Technical /Functional Skills:*

• Extensive knowledge of SQL including DDL and DML, data integrity and data
normalization practices.
• Demonstrated expertise with business intelligence, reporting and
visualization using BI tool suites such as Oracle Business Intelligence,
Tableau and MS-Access/MS-Excel
• Working knowledge of relational database technology (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL
server, MS Access).
• Working knowledge of Query/Analysis Tools (e.g. TOAD, SQL Navigator, AQT,
etc.)
• Working knowledge of ETL toolsets (IBM’s Datastage, Informatica), data
integration/translation methods and best practices.
• Working knowledge of MS-Office suite.  Advanced knowledge of MS-Excel
(data import, analysis, reporting, pivot tables, v-lookup and presentation
of data).
• Must have a demonstrated capability to rapidly learn new data management
and information reporting skills.
• Working knowledge of MS SharePoint usage.  Preferred experience
developing and refining SharePoint lists, views, infopath forms, data
visualization web-parts and business intelligence SharePoint integration
(performance point, SQL reporting services as well as connecting data
sources with business connectivity services
• Working knowledge data associated with financial services industry data
including banking, lending, securities, investments, real-estate,
annuities, pension, insurance, etc.
• Familiarity with creating end-user BI dashboards a plus**



*Qualifications*
• Strong understanding of data structures and analysis
• Knowledge of structured data, such as entities, classes, hierarchies,
relationships and metadata.
• Knowledge of database management system (DBMS) physical implementation,
including tables, joins, relationships, create custom queries and publish
custom views.
• Ability to combine data from multiple sources when needed for the
analysis (flat files, RDBMS, unstructured sources)
• Knowledge of basic data modeling skills and techniques
• Very strong data/information reporting and visualization skills
• Knowledge of data quality & data profiling techniques including data
cleansing and remediation.
• Knowledge and experience with data governance processes
• Experience performing root cause analysis on data anomalies and working
with data stewards/owners to resolve issues.
• Development of best practices, standard operating procedures for data
extraction, transformation, analysis and reporting.  Development,
recommendation and implementation and continual optimization of these
mechanisms.
• Translating data requirements into requirements specifications for
development
• Critical thinking capabilities
• Operates with a sense of urgency in producing analysis, reporting and
insight delivery
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability
to present finding from data analysis in a concise and clear manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by exhibited team work,
collaboration and engagement.
Excellent attention to detail and completeness of information balanced with
the ability to provide information in ambiguous/uncertain scenarios.
