*Position : Sr Project Manager* *Location : Albany, NY* *Duration : 6-12 Months contract* *Job description :* At least three (3) years of Health Care Industry, Insurance Industry, and Application Development or Technology Industry experience preferred. The Senior Project Manager will lead the activities of project definition for highly complex projects and programs. Will develop detailed project plans incorporating project milestones, resource allocation and review points for the entire project lifecycle. Conducts variance analysis, and makes recommendations to management for alternatives. Participates in portfolio management processes, to assist in the selection of the most appropriate initiatives. Mentors junior project managers. *Primary Responsibilities:* Lead in the preparation of project plans and schedules including requirements, tasks, work assignments, resources, and the inclusion of project milestones, review points and the reporting thereof. Review work of junior project managers, and provide guidance to them. Participate in tactical plan development, working with divisions to develop high-level work plans. Lead enterprise-wide project management initiatives for implementation in the divisions. Track resource allocations and review with appropriate management staff. Assist in the allocation of staff to meet project deadlines. Coordinate vendor interaction within project, ensuring smooth integration with CDPHP assets. Report project progress, status and issues to appropriate management staff. Assist in reviews and evaluation of performance for staff allocated within project. Lead and champion process improvement analysis initiatives using techniques such as business process re-engineering, TQM, value-added analysis, and six sigma quality techniques. Adapt to changing work priorities and a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional attitude. Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or related field required, or equivalent. Master's Degree in related fields a plus. PMP Certification required. Professional Experience & Certifications Formal training in PMI, SCPM, or other relevant courses required. Minimum of (5) year’s project management experience using formal methodologies required. Project management for a minimum of eight (8) full lifecycle implementations within the areas of Product Development or Application Development required. Implementation experience using an enterprise-wide project management system required. Experience with Clarity preferred. Successful experience in product and/or portfolio management required. Demonstrated PC skills required. Extensive knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, workflow, and project management software required. Strong planning and facilitation skills within Information Services required. Effective team leadership skills and proactive project management style required. Effective oral and written communication skills required. Analytical and problem solving skills. Strong presentation development and delivery skills. Demonstrated ability to proactively manage and shift priorities to meet day to day operational needs as well as mandated deadlines.
