SharePoint Administrative role:

- The SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for maintaining and
administering the SharePoint Servers owned by the client.

- The Administrator will be responsible for providing guidance and support
to SharePoint users.

- The Administrator will be responsible for interfacing with the IS team
and maintaining overall infrastructure health.



Responsibilities:



1.)   Supports administrative goals by:

- Managing and checking overall server health and functionality

- Monitoring SharePoint disk space usage through the built-in SharePoint
reports for each site collection and collaborating with IS on
infrastructure capacity

- Managing SharePoint permissions at site collection and individual site
levels, as dictated by NPS process guidance documentation

- Analyzing and reporting on SharePoint usage and activity

- Creating and administering site collections and sites

- Administering site templates

- Regular review of the events and messages reported in Event Viewer and
Performance Monitor

- Regular review, clean-up, management and configuration of SharePoint
accounts and sites.

- In this capacity the administrator will work closely with the Active
Directory administrators in IS.

- In this capacity the administrator will also work closely with the TFS
Administrator.

- Analyzing SharePoint content and storage on a regular basis

- Monitoring SharePoint trends (e.g. site usage and growth, disk space
usage and growth)

- Setting up alerts and enforcing alerting policies

- Auditing the SharePoint environment, sites, and usage on a regular basis

- Identifying and reporting governance violations to appropriate parties

- Setting up and maintaining multiple custom web applications, site
collections and services within SharePoint central administration

- Providing guidance and support for custom SharePoint implementations
within the division

- Checking for operating system, SQL Server and SharePoint patches and
cumulative updates (CUs)

- Follows change control process for administering any patches or CUs.



2.)   Maintains quality service by following organization SOPs, WI’s and
standards



3.)   Completes Other duties as assigned by management. Education:

- A bachelor's degree and six years of information technology experience,
or ten years of information technology experience

Prior Work Experience:

- 5+ Years working as a SharePoint Administrator

- 2+ Years experience with SharePoint Designer

- Experience developing and troubleshooting SharePoint 2007/2010 workflows

- Experience with content management

working with a TFS integrated SharePoint environment

- Experience working in Clinical Pharmaceuticals industry or Bio-Tech
industry a plus

- 2+ years experience working in Software Development

Other Requirements: Technical Skills:

- Debugging skills and techniques for each of these areas identified below
– troubleshooting issues can occur within or across one-to-many of these
areas.

- Has general knowledge of networking – IP, DNS as well as the concepts of
Availability, Scalability, and Maintainability

- Understanding of Internet Information Server (IIS) and the basic
operation of websites, Application Pools, IIS Administration, the IIS
Metabase, Ports, SSL Certifications (security certificates and wildcard
certificates), and IIS security configuration

- Microsoft SQL Server - Basic operation, tuning, transaction log
selection, backup and recovery, and maintenance planning

- Working knowledge of SharePoint Central Administration

- SharePoint Event Log troubleshooting, search administration and
troubleshooting, concepts of a farm and the planning and implementation of
Service Packs and Cumulative Updates



- Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server a plus

- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
