Position : *Sr. Oracle DBA*
Location : *SAN RAMON, CA*

*(Essential)Skills Required Qualifications*
*Required: *
*Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Senior Oracle DBA.
 *Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with Oracle 11G RAC, ASM, CRS.
*Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with VLDB (at least 10 Terabytes)
performance tuning *Minimum 2 years hands-on experience with data warehouse
administration.
*Experience and proficient with Oracle Grid Control, RMAN and Data Guard.
Proficient with Oracle 11G database features
 *Expert knowledge of relational database design  *Experience with Perl or
Unix shell scripting *Experience with Unix, AIX. Thorough understanding of
storage technologies such as SAN
*Experience supporting operational 24 X 7 production databases
Oracle and UNIX knowledge, skills and abilities through self-study,
instructor-led training, and assignments designed to stretch and teach
Extensive experience with RAC, database, and SQL performance tuning

*Desired: **Oracle RDBMS certification – OCP * Experience with Oracle

*Responsibilities:*
Collaborate and consult with application support teams to fully understand
database requirements, issues, and concerns and to maintain database
operations according to service level agreements. Provide consulting
services to application support teams, DBA team mates, and management for
purposes of explaining and defining optimal database strategies and
operations. Align strategies with operational service level agreements.
Mentor junior DBAs and collaborate with peers to achieve all of the above
across all Oracle databases.
*Provide expert, hands-on production support of mission-critical and other
assigned Oracle databases.  Monitor assigned Oracle databases for
performance, maintenance, and tune these databases as appropriate to
maintain predefined service level agreements.  Install, upgrade, patch,
backup, and recover assigned Oracle databases as specified by business and
compliance requirements. Enforce company change control, patch management
and information security standards and procedures. Maintain all change and
patch management documentation as required by company policy. Collaborate
and consult with DBA team mates to help perform all of the above on Oracle
databases assigned to others. Provide off-hour and weekend production
support as necessary and to act as backup DBA as required for maintaining
SLA support.
