The ideal candidate will be responsible for Engineering, Validation, Implementation, QA Testing & System Provisioning support for the following Systems Architecture Initiatives: Strategy and Standard's (Windows, ESX, Storage, Backup & Database); Engineering Initiatives (Windows, ESX, Storage, Backup & Database) Technologies; Engineering Initiatives related to Windows technology. Also be responsible for following standard operational procedures and using templates for documentation, project management and change management. Conduct weekly technical reviews and train other team members in preparation for system turnover. Off hours work may be required depending on project schedule. Key Responsibilities are providing documentation of Design Changes to environment; update standard build and QA forms; daily update of project plan and status reports; system build out and QA of systems, clusters and storage; implement, test and document backup, refresh and disaster recovery procedures for the system and application; provide support through helpdesk ticketing system; create and maintain Shell/PERL/VBscript scripts to automate system administration tasks; work with Openview engineer to establish monitoring and performance reporting; work with internal and external groups to establish and address root-cause analysis of issues and provide 3rd Level Support. Provide troubleshooting for systems connected to SAN and ESX. Be a mature individual who will have a direct bearing upon the consistent, reliable and efficient operation of the infrastructure. Liaison with cross-functional groups for Security, Network, and QA/Stress testing initiatives. Strong communication and documentation skills are needed to assure successful system turn over.
