Network Analyst: 5+ years of network administration experience Primary responsibility: Architect, deploy, and support enterprise network management systems covering the enterprise network management functions of Fault Monitoring and Alerting, Syslog Management, Network Performance & Capacity Monitoring, Configuration Management, IP Address Management, Device Access Management, Active Device Inventory, and System Mapping and to support the network analysts that use the systems to maintain the network. Major Duties and Responsibilities Ensure Network Management tools are up to-date with network infrastructure especially within the area of responsibility Trouble shoot application system issues Upgrade, patch, or improve a system as necessary Monitor systems to ensure availability and functionality Develop and maintain system documentation Put in place metrics and process to validate the effectiveness of MPLS deployment, WAN Optimization, QoS deployment and performance Consult with users and evaluate requirements, recommend designs, provide cost analyses where applicable, plan projects, and provide performance data for installation of data networks Analyze and provide inputs towards resolution of technical problems for established networks Serve as performance SME in network problems and emergencies Interface with other International BU and OPCOs IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network production problems Conduct technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility and recommend network solutions for short-, medium-, and long-range network projects Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network Work with vendors to resolve complex network performance related problems Provide network performance documentation, training, and guidance to customers COMPETENCY Requirement 5+ years of network administration experience on a network with > 5000 Cisco devices Extensive exposure of working with Network Management systems. (Desirable – having working experience on any of the following systems – CA Capacity management tools, EMC Configuration Management tool, TACACS/ACS, Splunk, SNTC) Server infrastructure administration – install, administer, and manage custom Windows servers Server infrastructure administration – install, administer, and manage custom Linux/Unix servers Experience with scripting and databases – SQL , My SQL. Medium sized Project Management experience (> 200 man hours) Excellent oral and written communications skills must exhibit excellent customer service skills. must understand incident/problem ownership. Must be willing to be fully accountable for incident/problem ownership beyond regular business hours. Must be able to track and execute multiple tasks simultaneously. Must understand the importance of producing, maintaining, and following documented processes and procedures.
