This is a high priority requirement, as we need to share few profiles to our client by EOD. * * *Position Title: Software QA Engineer (Test/Verification) * Job Location: San Mateo, CA Rate-$35 -$37/hr on c2c *Position Summary:* The person in this role will be responsible for developing and executing test cases for T-Mobile, Verizon, and At&t application areas. They will verify the applications meet operator requirements and meets user experience expectations along with operator quality standards. In addition, they will have the responsible for leading the verification effort for multiple customer applications. The person should have prior experience testing in a mobile phone test environment with expertise in Android software verification. An ideal person would be someone with Customer Acceptance experience with operator such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint. An ideal person would have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of telecom experience working for other OEM such as Motorola, HTC, Apple, Nokia and etc. They would most like have expertise in one of the following: Bluetooth, MMS, SMS, Platform Security, Mobile Web Browers, NFC, Exchange Active Sync, FOTA, or A-GPS. *Day to Day Experience*: This person will be responsible for the execution of Operator test specifications and development of test cases and or test scripts for Android applications, functions or features for Sony Mobile Phones. Specific responsibilities include evaluation of operator test requirements, determining the test scope required, reviewing existing test cases for completeness, updating existing test cases, generating new test cases, and executing test cases. The person will work independently to analyze requirements and test specifications to throughly perform verification activities along with reporting results in test repository and documenting defects. This person may set up and configure test equipment such as mobile network simulators and protocol analyzers. *Key Responsibilities:* *% of Time* *Responsibility* 60% Executing test cases to verify the functions of the mobile phone products. 5% Coordinating with team members, test engineers, project management, and global function groups to determine best practices. 15% Track and report issues using tracking tools 10% Evaluating new requirements and creating test cases or action plans to cover those requirements 10% Develop new automation strategies and/or test technics. *Skills, knowledge and functional competencies (behaviors):* R – Required, P - Preferred *R or P* *Skills and Knowledge and Competencies* R Experience with methods and tools for analyzing the development and technical characteristics of testing/verification systems R Ability to work independently and escalate problems when necessary R Strong communication, coordination, organization, and reporting skills. P Ability to lead a team. P Experience with TCP/UDP, 3GPP, IMS and WAP protocols P JAVA coding background in a testing role P Experience with testing tools such as ClearQuest, Mercury Quality Center Agilent 8960, Ethereal/WireShark and proprietary phone software loading and logging tools DebugMux, QXDM, QCAT, Snapper.
