Position Title: AS/400 (IBM System i) System Administrator L3 Location - Hoboken, NJ Duration: 6 months Relevant Experience: 6 to 8 Years Rates: Open (Market) Summary: AS/400 System Administrator serves and assists AS/400 (IBM i Series) Environment end user in technical direction, education, development and project management of the technical staff. Skills Required * 6+ years experiences with AS/400 in delivery roles within IT Infrastructure Services * Experience in Hardware Maintenance/trouble shooting * Experience in working with US customers * ITIL v3 Practitioner * Certification in IBM "i Series" System Administration * Track record of running / administering IBM i Series (AS/400) Servers. Responsibility: * Maintain all service levels for critical AS/400 Systems and Services * Administer the application program * Secure/Monitor AS/400 System Access * Monitor/Administer systems capacities and constraints * Maintain procedural documentation of activities and duties * Setup TCS GNDM based offshore operation for AS/400 administration and service delivery * Build Relationship with Customer and SMEs at customer's site * Build Relationship with Hardware/Software vendors and support teams * Recommend, plan and install AS/400 performance improving changes * Document daily work summary log of issues and corrective actions * Able to work on Incidents, problem and Change ticket, should follow up to closure * Work on special projects and processes as directed by management Requirements: * Experience with various IBM System i architecture * Experience on IBM i Hosting - LPAR installation, Configuration, virtualization * Experience on VIOS LPAR configuration * Experience on AS/400 - "System i" implementation/Migration * Experience on System i Networking and Storage Management including but not limited to SAN * Experience on working System values and network attributes * Experience on AS/400 Operations and Administration * Experience on working with DB/400 and AS/400 middleware * Strong knowledge of AS/400 messages and their meanings and priorities * Experience in Client Access, iSeries Navigator, and 5250 emulation * Experience on AS/400 LPAR Installation * Experience on working with HMC and/or SDMC Appliance operations and administration and associated Host and Guest partition administration * Implement PTF's, patches, upgrades, and updates for the iSeries and associated systems and software packages * Experience on Backup and Recovery (BRMS), System Director Navigator and Disk Storage Data Replication * Knowledge and awareness of technical and industry best practices and trends relating to iSeries * Identify, diagnose and repair required break-fix issues on iSeries Hardware * Maintenance and administration of Websphere and HTTP Servers * Maintain procedural documentation of activities and duties * Working knowledge on Virtual I/O Server and PowerVM. * Experience in disaster recovery setup, planning and conducting DR drills.
