*Please respond with Resume & Phone numbers of the consultant to: [email protected] <[email protected]> ASAP* *Direct Client Requirement* *Position: Sr. Application Ops Engineer* *Location: Woodland Hills, CA* *Duration: 12+ months contract* *Senior Application Ops Engineer * *Description* • Position location would be Woodland Hills, CA. • As Sr. Application Ops Engineer you will focus on the day to day operations of our rapidly expanding shared service offerings, ensuring service scalability and reliability. • This is a hands-on position requiring skills to configure, maintain, patch and upgrade applications and various J2EE and Microsoft Windows based technology components. *• Working experience on Tomcat/Weblogic/Websphere Application Server, scripting tasks, Configuration, Deployments etc* • While acting as a liaison with the development, performance and QA teams, you will be a primary contact to resolve production/hosting environmental related issues • You will be responsible for promoting patches to different environments as part of the periodic patching schedule • You will be actively involved in Change management, Software Configuration Management, Problem management, Incident Management and Service Engineering process • Implement the Operational strategies that support Change Management processes, addressing end-to-end process controls. • Collect, analyze, and report Incident-related metrics and uses these metrics to identify areas for process improvement. Work with Engineers to implement improvements • You will be a part of a rotating on call schedule where you will be the Point of Contact (POC) 24x7 • This is a fast paced dynamic environment which requires an energetic self starter with creative approaches to solving complex problems • Apply project management skills to operationalize new offerings and system improvements • Develop, enhance and deploy monitoring and performance solutions and assist in evaluating infrastructure improvements for long term growth and cost efficiency • Apply your knowledge and experience to recommend custom solutions to business problems and communicate tradeoffs when deviating from established standards • Comprehends and explains Operational and Incident Management Process • Supporting multiple J2EE technology and Microsoft technology based projects • Working in Sun Solaris, Linux, Unix environments, Microsoft Windows Server/Desktop environments and CITRIX Environments • Familiar with SDLC Methodologies Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes: Self-motivated, innovative problem solver who thinks smart, makes the right things happen • *Overall 5+ years experience in Software Application Operations Management, including Problem Management, Incident & Change management, tools, and methodologies*. • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field, or equivalent experience *• Strong Scripting (Shell, Perl, python, CGI, VBScript, Java Scripts, ANT etc.), X, Mail, SSH, HTTP/S* *• Working knowledge of Development tools (Java, IBM Rational Solution Architect, eclipse, Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual C# etc)* • Working knowledge of Solaris, Linux and Windows operating systems • Experience in Unix/Linux/Solaris and Windows System Administration, Apache Web server Administration, Websphere Application server administration, IIS Administration, Virtualization, Tomcat App server Administration, • Strong experience on RDMBS concepts, SQLs • Excellent Troubleshooting & Root cause Analysis skills • Ability to diagnose and fix deployment and infrastructure issues • Experience in Monitoring & Performance tuning tools like SCOM, NewRelic, Splunk, IBM Websphere PMI, Tivoli Performance viewer • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and with remote teams/organizations • Knowledge of technology and operational best practices • Experience with management of shared services operations activities: risk analysis, high availability, change management, incident management processes, and customer communication mechanisms • Thorough understanding of on-call activities. • Effective at communicating with others and across teams • Possesses working knowledge and hands-on experience with Java/J2EE technology, Microsoft VB / .NET Technology platforms • Must possess strong management, analysis, organizational, oral and written communication skills. • Ability to plan and track complex, detailed projects using Microsoft Project. • Provide system support for multiple teams and system users Thanks & Regards, Prasad Mamidela | Technical Recruiter | Cigniti Inc.
