The desired candidate will be expected to work the complete stack, including front-end, back-end, web services and database layers with greater emphasis on the back-end. This is a great opportunity for candidates interested in going to the next level in their career by taking initiative and ownership, driving solutions and that are eager to learn new technologies. *Education and Experience Requirements* · Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management or equivalent experience; Master's level degree preferred · Strong knowledge of core Java (jdk 1.5/1.6/1.7) · 3 years' of overall software experience · Hands-on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms · Understanding of concepts and fundamentals of Java and computer science, including multi-threading and memory management and web services · Working knowledge and experience with front-end development (JavaScript, AJAX frameworks, CSS, HTML) · Relational database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ORM technologies, JPA2, Hibernate) · Knowledge of Object Oriented analysis and experience with design and developing applications using Java EE platform · Desired Attributes · Core Java, Swing, HTML5, Javascript · Software Development Process · Source Control systems (GIT) · Shell scripting · Maven This position reports to the Lead Software Engineer/Architect and will be located at the downtown Chicago office.
