Role: Linux Admin Length: 12 months Location: Memphis, TN Contract Positions: One (1) Novell/SUSE Linux System Administrator Job Skills: 1. Experience with working in multiple server networks with multiple operating systems 2. Specializing in the following areas: system administration on Novell and Novell on Suse Linux 3. Some working experience supporting and working with other server side operating systems 4. Good hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience 5. Good hands-on performance management and troubleshooting experience 6. Good working knowledge of Symantec NetBackup 7. Good understanding of server virtualization utilizing VMWare 8. Excellent communication skills and documentation skills 9. Extensive hands-on experience working with Identity Manager to include but not limited to iManager and iPrint 10. Extensive hands-on experience working with Directory services to included but not limited to eDirectory, Active Directory, LDAP and Open LDAP 11. Extensive hands-on experience working with GroupWise and Zenworks Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Server hardware installation and system replacements (racking hardware and OS installation) 2. Patch, configuration and security management duties 3. Server anti-virus management, system monitoring and threat mitigation/incidence response 4. Monitor, test, and tune system performance; preserve and provide system log files as needed 5. Assist with on-going support, project work and other duties as assigned 6. System documentation, system backup and recovery testing 7. Act as project lead in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware; conduct capacity planning as needed. 8. Will be responsible for troubleshooting all Novell related service requests to included but not limited to provisioning and de-provisioning via the use of iManager and the IDVault, user rights and group memberships, iprint and ndps printing, email functionality and other Directory services requests 9. Will be responsible for creating all Suse Linux servers using VMWare and vSphere 10. Must demonstrate the ability to benchmark Novell/Suse Linux processes, train and direct lower levels of support on Novell/Suse Linux administration.
