Position: Data Warehouse Analyst II

Duration: 08/03/2015 to 01/31/2016

Milwaukee County,WI



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Responsible for importing, cleaning, transforming, validating or
modeling data with the purpose of understanding or making conclusions from
the data for decision making purposes.

·         Presentation of data in charts, graphs, tables, designing and
developing relational databases for collecting data and it also includes
building or designing data input or data collection screens.

·         Position may have to write Data Definition Language or Data
Manipulation Language SQL commands, be responsible for improving data
quality and for designing or presenting conclusions gained from analyzing
data using statistical tools including but not limited to  Microsoft Excel,
SAS,  and SPSS.

·         The candidate must have a strong understanding of data analysis
techniques or processes and be able to demonstrate this.

•         Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain
databases/data systems

•         Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex
data sets

•         Filter and “clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts,
and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.

•         Work closely with end users to determine possible solutions and
provide training to end users as needed.

•         Locate and define new process improvement opportunities



MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

•         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration
preferred but candidates with a background in technology, relational
database design and development, business intelligence will be considered.

•         Minimum of 5 years of experience as a data analyst, 3 years’
experience in the health care industry with experience in Medicare a plus

•         Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages
for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)

•         Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize,
analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention
to detail and accuracy

•         Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings

·         Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and skill in using Access
Databases.

·         Good time management skills

·         Ability to work independently with little direction.

·         Detail minded yet needs to have the ability to apply the detail
to a global situation.

·         Ability to work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and
number crunching. The candidate will need to see through the data and
analyze it to find conclusions and/or provide recommendations.

·         The position will often be called to present findings, or
translate the data into an understandable document.  The candidate will
need to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.

·         The position must look at the numbers, trends, and data and come
to new conclusions based on the findings.

·         The candidate must be vigilant in analysis to come to correct
conclusions.

·         Ability to maintain internal systems so they are in sync with
State information systems.

·         Maintain sensitive or confidential information.

·         Explain and gather information, answer queries, or provide
assistance to internal and/or external contacts.

·         Ability to initiate and maintain relationships that can have a

·         Speak effectively before both internal and/or external groups.

·         Strong analytical skills, ability to take data to a granular
level and interpret results to include identification of trends and
outcomes that will lead to alternatives.

·         Prepare or present written results in a meaningful and user
friendly format.

·         Makes minimal decision-making responsibility.

·         Requires the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
