Please share the profiles at *[email protected] <[email protected]>* *Sr. SW Engineer – Java/Linux* 9-12+ month contact Boston/Cambridge, MA *On-Site Interview* *Description: *We are seeking a senior experienced engineer to help us grow our product portfolio of technology solutions in the *financial application/compliance market*. An engineer who enjoys solving interesting and complex problems and who can fit in with a fast-moving existing team is the appropriate person for this role. *Duties:* The person filling this position will be responsible for designing developing and maintaining major complex applications and systems. An ability to learn quickly and contribute to major product initiatives immediately is required. This person will be working in our Boston/Cambridge area office along with a team of ten other engineers. experience with working on projects being developed by multiple teams in multiple locations is helpful. The person in this position will be responsible for testing their own code and debugging systems in conjunction with other team members. *Skills and Experience: *Candidates for the position should have a *minimum of five (5) years* of development experience. Strong Linux/Unix development experience is mandatory (preferably Redhat or Centos). Strong Java programming skills are mandatory. It is highly desirable for a candidate to possess C/C+ skills as well. Prior experience with Maven, Eclipse IDE and Git source code control systems required. Experience with Visual Studio and Microsoft development tools is desirable. Experience with email and messaging systems and protocols (*email servers and SMTP*) is desirable. Experience with Exchange email server, Lync Messaging server and messaging platforms in general is desirable. Prior work with Microsoft file systems and protocols (i.e. Samba/SMB protocols especially from Linux systems) would be very desirable. Experience with network security protocols and software (certificates, RSA Public/Private Key cryptography) is a strong positive skill. Knowledge of networking protocols, particularly in relation to messaging systems is desirable (MS RPC, SMTP).
