WebSphere Broker Indianapolis, IN Contract: 6 month Contract Skype *Job Summary: * Reporting to the Application and Integration Services (AIS) Manager, responsible for the operation and support of the WebSphere IIB (Broker and WebSphere MQ) platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of the capabilities of the IBM IIB platform and the vendor’s future plans for the platform with the ability to leverage that understanding to ensure desired business outcomes are achieved. The person in this role must perform all duties assigned by the AIS Manager and must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state and federal laws are followed at all times. Ensure that no company, employee or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties. *Responsibilities and Duties: * 1. Participate in the design and implementation of WebSphere IIB (Broker and MQ) platforms. Ensure design delivers the desired business outcomes. Ensure platform complies with corporate security risk, SOX requirements and IT policies and procedures. 2. Monitor and evaluate the daily operation of WebSphere IIB (Broker and MQ) environments. Monitor resource utilization, including such items as CPU, memory, and disk utilization. Report on system utilization and plan/implement recommended maintenance as required. Perform impact analysis for appropriate tasks. Develop and delivery proposals to optimize IIB platform. 3. Deploy applications to production and non-production environments. Create various Broker or MQ objects such as Queues, Channels, Clustered Queues, etc. 4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the platform. Create support tickets and work with IBM as needed. Support IBM HTTP Server instances within the platform. 5. Apply and promote patches. 6. Work with Business Analysts, Developers and Database Administrators to implement new applications or message flows. 7. Maintain documentation related to infrastructure and architecture of integration systems. 8. Produce project related documentation and provide estimates to the Project Lead or Manager for work to be completed. 9. Assist in recommendations for disaster recovery of integration environments. *Educational Requirements and Qualifications: * • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. • Minimum of three (5) years experience administering and supporting a production WebSphere Broker and MQ environment is required. Minimum of one (1) year experience with Linux or UNIX based operating system.
