The person in this position is self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision. They are expected to be responsible for well-designed and well tested code, and to apply creative solutions to problems. *Job / Duties / Responsibilities:* 1. Designs, develops, tests and documents embedded system software for new and existing Client products. 2. Ensures that their design is in compliance with Company policies, and that software activities are appropriate for the design and maintenance of medical products. 3. Writes and maintains design documentation and testing requirements. 4. Works with Quality, Regulatory, Marketing and Manufacturing to ensure that designs meet technical, regulatory and manufacturing requirements. 5. Self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision. 6. Works closely with other software and hardware engineers to integrate and debug systems. 7. Works with other departments to troubleshoot field issues. 8. Participate in product design reviews. 9. All other duties as assigned. *Job Qualifications:* *Knowledge / Education:* 1. Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent work experience. 2. Demonstrated working knowledge of software design. 3. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. 4. Experience developing software for embedded microcontrollers. 5. Knowledge of I2C, SPI, Flash, EEPROM and USB preferred. 6. Experience with commercial RTOS preferred. 7. Medical device experience a plus. 8. Prior experience with RF communications a plus. 9. Experience with ARM and Nordic processors preferred. *Skills / Competencies:* 1. Strong programming skills in C and/or C++. 2. Strong root cause analysis skills. 3. Able to work independently with minimum supervision. 4. Able to independently be responsibility for designing, implementing, and maintaining a section of a design. 5. Effective verbal and written communication skills. 6. Able to communicate at multiple levels of an organization. 7. Strong software engineering development skills. 8. Familiar with reading electrical schematics or other documentation related to position. 9. Able to organize and judge multiple priorities. 10. Able to generate and maintain accurate records.
