*Job Summary:*



The Architect is responsible for defining and overseeing execution of
technology vision and strategy. The architect resolves the competing design
forces of project constraints, business needs, software design, and
operational concerns by elevating tradeoff recommendations to appropriate
level. The architect should have extensive expertise in current patterns
for data management, application architecture, software development, and
software development methodology, along with core knowledge in project
management, quality assurance, and software configuration management. The
architect is expected to become expert in the business domain he/she
supports.



*Essential Job Functions:*



Collaborate with one or more teams to develop business capability maps,
process and strategies, gaining deep understanding of the business domain
and best practices to make business process recommendations and define
target-state operating models.



1.       Establish architecture strategy in alignment with business and
technology strategy, collaborating with business and 1 or more development,
and senior technology management.

2.       Contribute and participate in driving technology initiatives.

3.       Collaborate with business to develop business process and
strategy, gaining deep understanding of core principals and industry best
practices to make business process recommendations and align architectural
implementation.

4.       Effectively communicate technology strategies and trade-offs both
up to senior and executive management and down to development teams.

5.       Define technical designs and implementation plans, working
collaboratively with other architects, project managers, development leads
and business management.

6.       Determine, investigate and resolve core process and technology
issues and risks along the implementation timelines.

7.       Influence and partner with other architects and development leads
responsible for setting, implementing, delivering and maintaining business
enabling technologies.



*Qualifications:*



*Education/Experience Requirements:*



1.       Bachelor's degree in computer science or other sciences. Masters
or PhD degree preferred, or equivalent industry experience.

2.       Minimum 15 years experience in software development.

3.       Minimum 10 years leading software architecture and
implementation.

4.       Subject matter expertise in data management and application
architecture, along with extensive knowledge in application development,
programming languages, data structures and algorithms.

5.       Able to solve complex, multi-dimensional problems.

6.       Experience managing staff comprised of both employees and
contractors.

7.       Experience leading multiple development teams with 5 to 30 team
members

8.       Proven change agent who can improve and grow the capability of an
organization; keen eye for hiring and motivating teams.

9.       Demonstrated ability to manage a multitude of initiatives
simultaneously within a matrix organization.
