This role requires strong data architecture and information architecture skills and a high degree of technical acumen, excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as the requisite technical skills within Microsoft SQL Server and data software tools. · Employs appropriate RDBMS technologies to best fit application requirements, and provides technical and SQL assistance to application staff using the DBMS. · Provides troubleshooting, problem solving, monitoring and optimization of DBMS performance. Ensures security of the DBMS data, manages schema, database users. · Provides assistance to application staff in database design based on technical knowledge. · Assists in the management of hardware & software models and architecture as related to the overall Information Architecture. · Understands data management components, practices, and principles and can assist in the development of an information architecture: data governance, business glossary, data architecture, Master Data Management (MDM), data security, data integration, business intelligence and analytics, document and content management, metadata management, data quality. · Recommends strategies related to database management for transactional and analytics/business intelligence environments, such hardware upgrades, virtualization technologies, HortonWorks, SAS High Performance Analytics, HADOOP, SAP HANA, ELT, and analytics solutions. · Assures Data Quality by using database design and development best practices. · Develops standardized programming and data documentation procedures relevant to data systems. *Qualifications:* · SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) / Designer / Architect with 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2008-2014 database admin, including SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, replication, indexing, and Change Data Capture. · Must have advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve SQL Server related issues in a Microsoft Windows environment. · SQL Server database modeling / logical & physical database design experience using ERWin or PowerDesigner, as well as database software and tools support experience are required. · Advanced skills in Transact-SQL (T-SQL) coding are required. · Experience using Agile software development methodology as well as Kimball and Inmon methodologies required. · SAS and SAS High Performance Analytics- tool installation and configuration a plus. · SAP Business Objects Data Services Data Quality/Data Integration/BI suite, and SAP SharePoint integration a plus. · SAP HANA, HADOOP, NoSQL, PowerShell, HortonWorks, and DB2 for z/OS a plus. · Strong team and interpersonal skills. · Ability to take initiative and lead projects. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
