*Position: Middleware Analyst*

*Location: Durham, NC*

*Duration: 6 months*



*Position Focus: JBoss, LDAP, SSL, tuning*



The middleware senior analyst is responsible for both the strategic and
operational aspects of the middle tier. This includes infrastructure
monitoring management, Java application server management, LDAP services
management, and Web application server and certificate management, ensuring
operation and change control in accordance with operational policies and
procedures meeting or exceeding established SLAs.



*Primary Job Responsibilities*

• Deploy and manage Linux based application servers.

• Deploy and manage enterprise monitoring services, including Nagios,
Foglight and Big Brother.

• Deploy and manage LDAP authentication services.

• Deploy and manage Java based application services.

• Deploy and manage web application services, including Tomcat.

• Request and deploy web application certificates.

• Participate in ITs change control process.

• Participate in the planning and execution of system upgrades and security
patching.

• Participate in establishing SLAs/OLAs with application line of business
owners.

• Participate in business continuity planning.

• Participate in the planning and testing of for IT disaster recovery.

• Collect and report statistical information on infrastructure usage
patterns.

• Act as an IT technical consultant on business initiatives.

• Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve communications at all
levels and in all directions

• Solicits feedback, evaluates and monitors client or customer satisfaction
to improve the quality of services.



*Education/Training*

BA or BS in computer science, mathematics or a computer-related field and 3
years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and
experience.



*Experience*

• Demonstrated expertise managing/administering Linux/Unix systems.

• Demonstrated expertise managing authentication via LDAP.

• Demonstrated expertise managing J2EE application servers, particularly
JBOSS.

• Demonstrated expertise managing web servers including Apache, Websphere
and lIS.

• Demonstrated expertise in switching traffic management using web servers
and content switches, including F5.

• Demonstrated experience deploying and managing secured computer systems.

• Demonstrated understanding of computer system validation and
documentation in a regulated (21 CFR Parts 11 and 820 compliant) environment

• Demonstrated understanding of messaging processes such as used by
ActiveMQ and Mule.

• Demonstrated understanding of ITIL, SDLC and change control processes.

• Demonstrated understanding of system architecture design.

• Demonstrated leadership, project management and consensus building
communication skills.
