SSIS DEVELOPER Location: ALPHARETTA, GA Duration: 6 months. GC or USC only The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for technical deliverables (i.e., code and documentation) on projects assigned. Responsibilities Translating Requirements and Solution Architecture deliverables into detailed Solution Design specifications. Maintaining effective and consistent communication within the team, with peers, the leadership team and the peers in other IT groups. Proactively raise issues to Technical and Sub-Team Leads when necessary. Producing high quality application engineering deliverables in accordance with the project timeline. Building and unit testing a project to detailed design specifications Develop and deliver technical systems. Maintain adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc. Participate in the development and review of documents to comply with SDLC methodologies (e.g. Project Charters, Project Plans, ROM estimations, Software Architecture Documents). Provide support and documentation to assist in sustaining the project during the transition to production where necessary. Adhere to Application Engineering methodologies, standards, code reviews. Provide feedback regarding application engineering methodologies, standards and leading practices when appropriate. Identify potential points of contention for missed activities and notify project leadership of situation and remediation plan. Minimize technical exposure and risk on projects Proactively identify and addresses application engineering strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Proactively anticipate project issues before they occur; define the problem; identify possible causes; work with team to identify solutions; select and implement most appropriate solution. Apply judgment in implementing Application Engineering methodologies, processes, and practices to specific requirements of projects/programs which may include product design engineering, information security, code maintainability and reliability. Sound analytical skills and problem solving skills needed to manage multiple technical challenges simultaneously per each project assigned when needed. Obtain necessary supervision and support to ensure quality, adherence to application engineering methodologies, standards, leading practices, budgets, and timelines are met. Work closely with: Application Engineering Technical and Sub-Team Leads to understand strategic goals/objectives and translate into actionable plans. Other Functions: Project Management, Business Analysis, Solution Architecture, Quality Assurance; to build solutions as part of end-to-end projects. Operations managers to effectively and efficiently support the project during the transition phase. Peer Staff Engineers to properly coordinate project deliverables on projects involving multiple Staff Engineers. Candidates must have: •Approximately 5-7 years of hands on work experience building, integrating and delivering enterprise-wide web applications Microsoft technologies (SQL Server/SSRS/SSIS, .NET, C#, VB.NET) •In-depth knowledge of object oriented analysis and design (OOAD) principles, and understanding usage and familiarity with many design patterns for Software applications. •Demonstrated expertise in application design and construction, work breakdown structure of items, design and code reviews, unit test and build activities, deployment and performance related activities, documentation, support and training/mentoring. •Solid interpersonal communication and organizational skills required to operate as a contributing member of global technical teams that deliver quality services. •Strong technical skills designing, developing, debugging, documenting, and implementing applications. •Knowledge of organizational structure of the firm to facilitate work with groups outside of the immediate technical team. •Strong knowledge and experience in all IT methodologies and life cycles that will be used. •Familiar with infrastructure implementation/management, service/operations management, etc. •Possesses an understanding of IT Services: service offerings, technical standards and policies, technical and business strategies as well as organizational structure. •Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on service offerings and products provided by IT. _______________________________________________________________________________ The Senior SSIS developer will be responsible for executing an architectural vision, conceptualizing architectural approaches, developing and validating the architecture and high level solution design against business requirements via series of Proof of Concepts (POC�s): Leadership. Knowing when to focus on the details or taking a step back to look at the big picture and evaluating an issue. The Senior SSIS developer enforces engineering methodology, reviews engineering design packages and drives to minimize technical exposure and risks on projects. Excellent client-facing skills and executive presence are essential to the role.Promoting a Passion for Technology. The Senior SSIS developer is expected to evangelize best practices for application engineering, component re-use, architecture design and technical standards, while maintaining an awareness of new / emerging technologies and their potential application to existing service offerings. An understanding of architectural solutions to address functional and non-functional requirements is critical, as is hands-on experience implementing technical solutions. Communication. The Senior SSIS developer is expected to proactively identify and address technical strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Listening is the most effective art form available to gain these insights. A successful Senior SSIS developer will build a shared understanding of the solution with the capacity for communicating that vision though technical materials, verbal presentations, and facilitating inter-team discussion.
