*Please respond with Resume & Contact details of the consultant to: [email protected] <[email protected]> ASAP* *Position: DevOps Engineer( Chef Experience )* *Location: Dallas, TX* *Duration: 12+ months contract( Long term )* *Position: DevOps Engineer (Chef):* *Job Description:* We are looking for candidates who understand Software Builds and the Continuous Integration (CI) Process and who can provide expertise, support, and direction for building systems using Chef. The engineer will provide Chef expertise, helping to design and implement Chef scripts. Training and mentoring other DevOps engineers will be a key component of this position. The main tools / experience needed for this role are: *Chef, Ruby, and WebLogic on Redhat\Centos Linux environments and Python (w*hile *Python isn’t really a requirement it is encouraged for this role as it means the candidate will understand the backend of WebLogic and could get all the moving parts working with* Chef). *Responsibilities:* - Implementing and creating new tools to automate and enhance the overall development / operational environment. - Experience with the integration of software builds, database management, deployment and release management tools are also essential to the success of the DevOps Engineer role. - Ability to determine how to fix the environment and isolate the issue with the application and engage the appropriate team and track the issue to resolution. - Will be part of the support rotation for development and testing. - Monitoring of the operational system environment and issue resolution. - Automating tasks using automation tools in an enterprise Agile environment ****REQUIREMENTS**** - MUST have a passion for Automating mundane and repetitive tasks - Minimum of 3 years of Chef scripting experience. - Experience writing Chef cookbooks and experience managing a Chef environment - 4 Years’ experience scripting in Shell Scripting - 5 Years’ experience Linux Systems Administration, and experience in a Web J2EE environment with WebLogic. - 5 years of experience with Continuous Integration, Database Management, Deployment and Build/Release Management. - Agile / Scrum / Kanban - MS Office - Ability to or willingness to train other team members on Chef *Additional desired skills / experiences:* - Expertise in writing and maintaining scripts for the automated build and deploy process. - Experience with Python and/or Ruby. - Experience merging code in Java desired. - Expertise in executing and reviewing results of automated test suites. - Creation, implementation, maintenance and documentation of tools to support code merging and branching processes. - Involved in the day-to-day build support, build problem resolution and build automation. - Deploying software packages into various environments. - Managing of artifacts, manual installs and assisting with creating of scripts. - Ensure all changes go through the approved change management process. - Ensuring of a day to day basis of a stable code base. - Excellent partnering, communication, and negotiation skills so as to interact effectively with business customers and technology development and support groups.
