*Tasks* The tasks for the Automation Architect include, but are not limited to, the following: - Propose, define, setup and standardize process for scalable & robust test automation framework - Devise plan for on-boarding NextGen and migrating key legacy systems on to the defined automation framework - Design and develop test automation artifacts (scripts, functions, libraries, scenarios, processes) for complex automated testing situations using effective tools. - Define automation object handling parameters based on MVC, MFC, DOM, CSS, JavaScript, JNode, JQuery, DHTML technologies etc. - Manage automated testing artifacts to ensure proper reuse, versioning, backups, organization and retention - Coordinates with QA Leads to facilitate gathering, documenting test automation objectives, requirements for input into Automation Strategy and Design approach constantly - Constantly evaluates approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, dynamic data collection methodologies, coding standards, components and object repository methods, etc.) - Collects, organizes, and analyzes statistical information from variety of sources (both technical i.e. web logs, and non-technical i.e. product side) to support high-quality test design - Documents test automation requirements, test planning artifacts in preparation for test automation design - Ability to work in partnership with development to ensure scripting technique is being built in such a way to optimize automation time to time. - Designs, executes, monitors, and troubleshoots automated tests in a variety of situations and conditions - Estimate and track QA effort for multiple projects parallel to deliverables. - Identify, communicate and provide solutions to issues that impact project schedule - Define infrastructural needs and maintain automation environments - Ability to measure effectiveness of automation testing approach and make solid recommendations for increased efficiency in release testing - *Required Time Allocation:* 60% - Test automation architecture – defining frameworks, methodologies, strategies and approaches, driving improvements in test automation, expanding and growing automation coverage every release 30% - Technical guidance & oversight of assigned test automation resources 10% - Close coordination with multiple IT stakeholders and developing ROI based automation platform *Technical Knowledge and Skills* - 7+ years of core experience as Automation Architect role (start to finish in implementation projects) - 10+ years of experience in designing, developing Automation Scripts using Selenium, Java, Python, TestNg, AutoIT, Grid & Webdriver, xPath utilities, Custom reporters, trend analysis, file diff / compare tools - Top-level technical automation expert with progressive knowledge and skills in the area of automated test design - Has expert level understanding of complete test automation and various test automation frameworks (i.e. data driven, keyword driven, modular, hybrid, script less) - Advanced competency using standard test automation methodologies, direct scripting including Linear Scripting and Structured Scripting - Good experience in SCM tools for configuring automation repository artifacts including integration with TFS etc. - Knowledge to design, plan, execute, monitor and integrate tests into a continuous integration pipeline - Proficiency in SQL, SoapUI, Webservices testing. - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills *Demonstrable Skills* The Consultant shall possess most of the following skills: - Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze information and identify and formulate solutions to problems. - Complete work within a reasonable timeframe under the supervision of a manager. - Strong knowledge of project management practices and ability to document processes and procedures as needed. - Work collaboratively with other project team members and independently on assigned tasks and deliverables with minimum supervision. - Communicate effectively with users at all levels verbally and in writing. *Core Competencies* The Consultant resource(s) shall possess the following prerequisite core competencies: - Act with integrity - Use sound judgment - Commit to quality - Demonstrate adaptability - Innovate - Think strategically - Communicate effectively and influence others and - Work well both independently and as part of a team.
